I wonder where are those Crabbe believers talking about the big numbers he would get with the Nets? Where is his better all around game that we were not taking advantage of? Wasn't he supposed to be having 3+ asts? Where did you go Crabbe believers? Still here? Your boy getting even less mins than last season.
I was ambivalent about losing Crabbe; now very relieved we somehow dumped him. almost feel sorry for Nets GM.
http://nypost.com/2017/10/29/one-net-explains-his-disappearing-act-vs-knicks/ Good read. Crabbe has started once in the first six games of the season and is still building up his minutes after missing time with a sprained ankle during the preseason. ... Crabbe said there are still restrictions on his playing time after the injury. There is constant dialogue between him and the staff after each game regarding how he’s feeling, and though he’s averaging 24.3 minutes per game, that number could increase. “Lately I’ve been feeling really good,” Crabbe said. “If I feel good and I can carry more of a workload, then we’ll sit down and have that conversation, make that decision when the time comes.” Atkinson said his starting five is by no means set in cement for the rest of the year. There could be moves to be made once Crabbe is restriction-free, but first he’ll need to learn how to consistently be an offensive threat, even on nights like Friday.
This. But to add to it, Pat does things that Crabbe was simply not capable of. Like come off of that curl, penetrate, then score or setup a teammate.
A certain stats guy on these forums was dogging Crabbe continuously this offseason because of his defense. It would be interesting to see a comparison.
And what does it have to do with what I'm saying? Maybe he is not starting because there are better players? And he is lucky Lin got injured, because Lin, Russell and Carroll would be the starters and that would not change.
I wonder where the fans are with common sense that don't jump to conclusions either way after 13 fucking days.
Bro, I think he'll do WORSE in a situation where he has not expanded his game in any way and then being game planned against.
There is nothing in Crabbe's game that says he'll be successful without 2 AMAZING guards to play with.
And I repeat. What does your initial post had to do with mine? He is not doing those things you were talking about because he is not starting? I have watched 3 games and it's the same Crabbe that we saw. I don't see better defense, I don't see passing, I don't see rebounding. You can blame these injuries, but I see the exact same player he was the last 2 years. Ok lets give him some weeks to recover (because apparently that's why he is the same player and not a new CJ ). After that i expect those 3+ asts, rebounds etc you were talking about.
Ah that's why he is not making plays. It's that ankle that limits him from seeing his teammates. Maybe side effect is blurred vision.
and there we have it, common ground. I don't think Crabbe is all that. Let's just give him some time to acclimate to his new team/scheme and let him heal up. We'll know in 20 or so more games, and you'll probably be right about him, but it makes sense to defer judgment for a while.
