Alot of teams need to make some decisions. For example, the Magic need to decide whether they want to keep Darko or go after another free agent (ex. Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter). What about your team?
The Raptors need to replace Mo Peterson with another SG/SF...besides that, I can't really think of anything. Maybe Brian Colagenlo will make some moves though....
The Pistons need to make smart draft choices, get some young guys who can come in and make an impact off the bench next season and not 2-3 seasons down the line. A young guard like Law or someone would be nice. Also, resigning Chauncey would be nice too lol.
For the Jazz it's re-sign CJ Miles and Dee Brown, and than just continuing to develope the players they already have. I dont think the Jazz will even keep their first round pick since they have so many young players as it is, another one isn't really good to help a lot. than they'd probably sign some scrub 7 footer to stash on the inactive list incase they need one.
Get a durable shooting guard, Mo Pete comes to mind. I would like us to resign Croshere/Stackhouse to one year deals as well. Stack might be an issue if they don't see eye to eye on a deal. But with a good run, both should come back imo. I think Benga returning kind of puts our big man issue behind the durable sg need. Not many holes, so I'd look at the draft with our 3 2nd rounders. I'd like us to move up but if we keep the 3 in the deep draft. Take a big, pg, and swing. Let them with Barea/Pops battle for a spot in training camp.
hmmmwell the C's need to do a few things.#1 have the lottery balls bounce their way and get one of the top two picks (Oden or Durant).package one or two young guys with Theo Ratliff's expiring 12 mil contract to get Pierce some help.Have the remaining young guys stay healthy, dedicate themselves to improving and have Al Jefferson continue with his improvement on a consistent basis next year.fire Doc Rivers if there is a decent coach available rather some retread like Del Harris.Give Ainge 1 more year to see if he actually has a plan and isn't just stockpiling young talent for the sake of just having it.
The Grizzlies need to learn to play transition defense. Our offense is awesome..everything is very good except our transition defense. If we can hold opponents..memphis can be a top team in the West like the past years.
lol obviously a fan of a team that will either miss the playoffs or get knocked out 1st round made this thread. A real fan like myself is waiting for the playoffs to come and end before I even THINK about offseason.
Well, the Pacers need a lot of things. Number 1 is a new point guard. We desperately need a point guard. Jamaal Tinsley has short moments (like 2 plays) where he looks good, but then the next 4 times down the court he will make a mistake or forget to play defense. I'm tired of all these streeball point guards. Just because they can dribble and pass behind their back does not mean they can lead. And Jamaal Tinsley cannot lead. Heck, he has enough problems leading himself. He's just immature. Which is why the Pacers need a new point guard. Two guys who look like they would fit in with the Pacers very well are Acie Law and Tyson Lawson. Although we don't have any draft picks (unless we have a bottom 10 pick) we could send a trade to get either of these guys. Number 2 is the future of Jermaine O'neal. We can keep him and keep playing this boring pound it in basketball or we can trade him for some young guys and maybe a draft pick. I personally would have no problem trading Jermaine. I think the best team to trade him to is the Celtics. We could get their draft pick in return and maybe some young guys like Gerald Green. If we could somehow land the Celtics draft pick we should draft Oden (assuming he comes to the NBA). I think it would make the transistion to pro easier for him to be back home in Indiana. Under the guidance of Larry Bird (who was a great big man and played with many great big men) Oden could really develop into a star. The Pacers have a long tradition of taking young players and turning them into stars. Over the last 7 years the Pacers have helped Jermaine O'neal, Ron Artest, and Al Harrington reach all star or near all star status. Danny Granger and Shawne Williams are continuing it as they are coming along nicely. I think that Indiana would be one of the best places for Greg Oden to develop. Plus it's been such a long time since we've had a real all-star center. It's been almost 40 years (Rik Smits was good but not great).Number 3 is the future of Rick Carlilse. Is he really the coach we want for the future? In my opinion he's not. His style of basketball is more like the 90s style of basketball. He focuses too much on defense and not enough on offense. His offensive plays consist of double picks and an entry pass for a post move. His offensive knowledge is really very limited. Plus he plays too much favoritism. He never yells at the starters and when they make mistakes he just claps his hands. Plus he calls way too many timeouts instead of just letting the players just tough it out. We need a more offensive minded coach. The Pacers have plenty of good defensive players (Granger, JO, Daniels, Foster, Dunleavy) that it's not really something we need to focus on. We need a coach that can get some offense going. The candidate who I think is best suited to replace Rick Carlilse is (Suns assistant coach) Marc Iavaroni. He has had the advantage of coaching under Mike D'Antoni and looks ready to head coach a team. Unforuantley, Marc Iavaroni is a hot pursuit for lots of teams so we'd have to give him a large contract. But I think he'd be worth it. The only problem is if Bird would be willing to fire a former teamate and close friend in Rick Carlilse. But this is a buisness and I think Bird understands that. There are a lot more changes we have to make but those are the main 3.
Well, it's hard to really say for the Celtics right now, because we just have so many options this summer. First of all, like CelticFan said, we obviously need to hope that the lottery balls bounce our way. But regardless of the lottery, whether we get a top 2 pick or not, I think we definitely have to go out there and deal some of these young guys for some good/solid veterans. We have the most valuable expiring contract for the 07-08 season (Theo Ratliff's expiring $12M after this upcoming season), we have plenty of young talent, we have draft picks. We are just so flexible right now, we could take it to a few different directions. We already have one clearly established All-Star in this league, in Paul Pierce, plus Big Al Jefferson, who should be in at least All-Star consideration next season. We have a few very solid young role players in Delonte West, Ryan Gomes, Kendrick Perkins, and even Wally Szczerbiak if he can ever stay healthy (unlikely). Then we have some guys that really have some potential, like Gerald Green, Rajon Rondo, I'm still not giving up on Sebastian Telfair whether he progresses in Boston or not, etc. If Tony Allen can come back close to the level he was at before he went down... say by mid-season or the end of the season (around playoff time), we are going to be nice.I think that even if we made no moves whatsoever, and just took on this lottery pick, we'd be a playoff team next year. But... we need to do more than just take the pick and run, obviously. If it by chance is not a top 2 pick, and we don't get Oden or Durant, we need to package the pick (#3-5 range) with Theo Ratliff's expiring deal, Gerald Green, and a filler, maybe two, and get ourselves an established All-Star-type player.Again, there are so many options, I'm just very excited and anxious to find out what's gonna happen. On May 22nd, we'll have a pretty good idea at where this team is headed.
CelticBalla, if you drafted Oden - would you be willing to trade him for Jermaine O'neal? Do you think that would be something the Celtics would be willing to do?

Get Mo Williams or Chauncey Billups, draft Greg Oden, keep all of our good players, and I call that an offseason for the Grizzlies
-Buy a draft pick from some team.-Draft a defensive big to guard bigs like Howard, Bosh, Sheed, Shaq, ect.-Larry work hard with LBJ during the off season -Tell Mike Conley to stay with OSU(I think he is) so we can get him next years draft. Or get my dude Ron Lewis! :winkglasses: Not that much needed. Hopefully Larry, Sasha, and LeBron tend to work out like a triple threat duo.
Let go of all our PG's, let go of Ruben Patterson, draft Acie Law or Julian Wright, add a couple veteran players and don't waste a lot of money.

God, he can't move his feet, he can't stay in front of a man, point guards can post him up, and about the only thing he can do is draw charges.
