Morris declared for the 2005 NBA draft as a freshman and went undrafted. The NCAA allowed him to return to the Wildcats after serving a suspension, but NBA rules prohibit Morris from re-entering the draft, which made him an unrestricted free agent. Morris averaged 16.1 points and 7.8 rebounds a game this season for the Wildcats.</div> I think that was an excellent pick-up by the Knicks. He gives you another decent interior presence off the bench, he's a strong body, and he rebounds. He can score the basketball, he just needs to develop a little consistency. I think he'll be fine, nothing great, but he will help the Knicks. I really like this signing.
Yeah, but he entered the draft in 2005, went undrafted (he was a freshman), and they made some kind of deal that he could return to Kentucky, but he couldn't enter the draft again but a team could sign him
After 10 games Morris was playing so well that there was buzz that he would sign....great pickup for the Knicks. He's got Jamaal Maglore size and can score inside. He could be a hell of a rotational player if he gets a mid-range jumper.

Can someone help me out here? haha..</div> He entered the 2005 NBA Draft and he was not picked. Since he did not hire an agent prior to the draft, he still withheld his NCAA eligibility. So, he went back to Kentucky. Ever since then, he has been a free agent in the NBA. A year ago, if someone wanted him, he could have left school and went right to the NBA right in the middle of the season if he wanted to. He played it smart, he finished the year and established himself, he helped lead his team to the tournament, and he ended up getting a good deal from a team that will use him.

Cato was (and I say "was" because he's old and washed up now) a banger and a hell of a rebounder/garbage man. Morris is more of a scorer on the block. He's not a nice touch and he has improved his conditioning over the past couple years. I hope he gets a chance to play a little next year. He would have been a 1st round pick this year.
