So, here we are. The 2017 baseball season ends tonight. Game 7. If the Astros win tonight, I’ll be very surprised. Dodgers have been winning the ones they have to win. But, like the old adage reminds us that this game is played on the field and not on paper. Whoever wins, I’ll probably be fast asleep!
3 days till tanaka decision. I bet he doesn't have the balls to opt out. And if he does the yanks need to let his ass go.
...I seriously doubt he will...he has injury concerns and he's inconsistent and he did not have a good year this year. I don't think it has as much to do with having the balls to opt out, but I just think he's smart enough to know that there's likely no chance another team will give him more that the 3 years / $67 Mil he's still due from the Yanx. That's "ace" type money and he's simply not an ace. ...of course, on the other hand, if he does decide to roll the dice, it could actually be a good thing for the Yanx. That's a lot of money that could either reduce payroll or be used elsewhere to fill holes of acquire another front end starter.
I did not watch one inning of this series, did not like either team. Did check scores, read recaps, and check play by play. The Dodgers Organization reminded me of a "Best and the Brightest" scenario. They got new ownership, hired the admin brains from Oakland and Tampa. They had allegedly the best pitcher on the planet. During the season they acquired players thought to be needed to augment those on hand. All that time, preparation, and money invested only to see it fizzle as the visiting team celebrated in their ball parks visitors clubhouse. Ah well the season is now OFFICIALLY over I look forward to F/A postings and the winter trade meetings.
