I don't think he'll ever be a 25ppg scorer. Everyone needs to loosen up the homer glasses.
Couldn't have said it better myself!

I agree with most of this but I wouldn't call him a "hustle guy." If he actually hustled he'd be a good player.

    Spot on.

If this team had the kind of starting SF it needs, I think he might be behind Aminu in the SF rotation.

It's not that I don't like him, because I do. He's not a horrible player - far from it.

He's been riding the coattails of a very good late season and playoff run that got us into the 2nd round two seasons ago. He's been given the opportunity to really step up his game, like CJ did, even if it turns out to be to some lesser extent.

If ET was a more sure 3pt shooter, there'd be no competition at SF at all, IMO.

Thats neat and all but NO ONE suggested he could be, should be or would be a 25 ppg scorer.

Why deceptively? Is it because he's white??

A "hustle player" usually means the kind of player that is at their best when they are going for loose balls, tip-ins, slashing to the rim and hoping to be setup by the point-guard. In other words a limited player.

The NBA actually tracks "hustle" stats. Deflections, loose ball recoveries, charges, contesting shots, screen assists, etc. Harkless isn't ranked in the top 50 of a single category, and isn't even ranked in the top 100 save for one.

What are you talking about? Do you even read the posts to get context?

He was quoting Mick who said if he could create his own shot, Harkless could be a 25ppg scorer. BigGameDame said Harkless wouldn't develop that skill and would never be that type of scorer.

Obviously Mick SUGGESTED that Harkless COULD be a 25ppg scorer.

Yep. He's a 'hustle guy' who doesn't hustle very often.

I meant real people. One person does not "everyone" make. Plus, he's a poster who thinks everything coming out of Gonzaga is the best thing ever.

I don't understand some of the people on this board man...

So he's playing much worse this year compared to last year, but this year he's showing his ceiling? You realize that makes no sense, right?

Putting stats aside, he doesn't look any different to me this year compared to last year. Will his percentages improve? Maybe? Probably? But he's still the same guy. He still has limitations to his skillset. He still looks like a backup miscast as a starter.

Can we just combine Harkless' athleticism and body with Connaughtons brain and shot? Please?

    I didn't know you're a Meyers Leonard fan.

When with Orlando, Harkless was nicknamed Heartless--i.e. inconsistent and absent-minded.

Think we got about as much from him as possible. I want a replacement.

    How about this Mo trade?
    upload_2017-11-6_11-10-16.png
It gets us out of the tax and sheds Meyer's contract.

If Meyers is involved don't expect us to get the better player or cap savings in return.

Mo is the kind of guy that if you just read stats is disappointing. I think if you watch a game and really focus on just him he impacts the game more than we give him credit for in particular on the defensive end.

I think he's reached it. Rotational player who does a few things well. Who was he supposed to end up being comparable too?
