Wife and I just started this. Ill read this thread once we are caught up, but so far (half the first season watched) i'm all in!
So great I had to start a thread about it. I've probably only started 15 threads in my entire time here.
It kinda surprised me how big Sean Astin got when I saw him in the show. Goonies throwback right there
We've just watched the stand alone Eleven episode (#7) and HOO-WEE is it bad. (I am not alone in thinking this.) My guess: it's INTENTIONALLY bad, as a homage to all those cheesy '80s movies where all the bad guys were punks-as-represented-by-people-who-are-not-punks. Like Return of the Living Dead. But boy is it bad. (Particularly coming off the best episode yet.) Better off not watching it at all. Starting to think that Eleven is now the worst part of the show.
Having said that, she has two episodes to redeem herself. But for God's sake, stick some cotton wool in your left nostril before you do any telekinesis shit, girl.
Just watched episode 8: holy shit, this season just TOTALLY redeemed itself. Let's just say Spoiler it doesn't pay to have a one syllable name beginning and ending with B.
Finally can read this thread after finishing up the season last night. I'm with you all on the weirdness of Ep 7. Didn't seem to fit. That being said, I loved it. My favorite thing about it is RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! coming through in the clutch.
I thought episode 7 was fine. I just thought it was going to payoff in the final episode. Spoiler I was thinking 08 was going to come and find 11 and the two were going to be needed to close the gate, but I guess it's just laying the groundwork for season 3.
