Exactly, it was the spike that caused the ridiculous contracts. You can't give everyone 10 million dollar contracts. No one is going to offer that much for Vonleh, Though Ed maybe close, since he's having a good year.

No doubt. The Swanigan love is flat out ridiculous around here. He's a scrappy player, but he's not really big or athletic. Vonleh is a better defender and interior scorer right now.

thats why I want us to trade for Randle
hes better than anything we have at PF and has higher upside too

with Nurk & Randle, we would have low post scoring, rebounding and Randle can play defense too... if we could sort SF position too, that would be nice

Amir Johnson got $11 million this offseason, so keep dreaming.

And I'd be willing to put money on Vonleh getting more per year than Davis.

I like Randle but that would mean a trade of Vonleh and I can't see Olshey multitasking like that in one season.

    Let's not be hasty:
    caleb v noah.png

In many ways they are the same, but in some ways, Caleb is better. Caleb gets love because he's a rookie, not a 4th year player. Every rookie who shows a motor gets love here. No need to call the love 'flat out ridiculous'. He has a great motor and will to work.

Let's not talk AST% or TOV% if we're talking about Noah being the better player.

The expectations of Swanigan were a little out of control, there were people trying to convince everyone Swanigan would replace Crabbe's shooting.

Swanigan will be good role player, but Vonlehs defense is really impressive and the chemistry he has with Nurkic shouldn't be overlooked. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yeah I’m a fan of Noah/Nurk as a weird “one guy gets all the stats but they both need to play” tandem. It’s not a coincidence. But I do think Swagitron will be a 6th man or fringe starter in the league by age 25.

Bingo. Biggie is already a better player than Vonleh and he's just a rookie. Personally I don't know why Stotts doesn't start him. I also like what I see from Zach. He needs more time too.

Who were those people? I don't remember that at all.

Buuuuut... 1.7 3pg ain't shit and is replaceable in our offense.

    Defense. Plain and simple.

People need to look at both sides of the ball when they talk about who's better than who.

On a 1 year deal. Sixers were giving out over-inflated contracts to meet the floor this year but to also have spending money again in the summer. He wasn't getting 11 per for say 3 years from any other team which is why he is with the Sixers.

Vonleh gives you one kind of defense (blocks, length), while Caleb gives you another (steals, boxing out). On offense, they're two different types of player as well, cutting low post versus distributing high post... they're very different players, but right now Vonleh works well with Nurkic, so ride that wave until it's over.

Well, he has a better +/- than Nurkic in fewer minutes (38 in 210 to 18 in 299)...

Vonleh is just a flat out better defender. It's really the reason he starts.

If we make a trade to get under the luxury tax at the trade deadline, then we'll sign anyone that's left.

I had a whole argument on this board that Swanigan wouldn't replace Crabbes shooting/scoring and multiple people tried to tell me I was wrong. You were one of them.

Which is why their DRtg is exactly the same, and their Defensive BPM is only 0.3 apart.

Vonleh is a better looking defender, but Swagitron hasn't been as bad as advertised.
