for out of towners like me, its worth it. you have to wait for brunch everywhere these days, sometimes you can get something simliar, but if you have a craving for something specific, you need to get it.
Tips for a convenient brunch in Portland: 1. Have breakfast instead. Get up at 7am, and be at the restaurant by 8:30am. Hipsters don't wake up before 9am. 2. Go on Saturday. Hipsters are atheists, so they go to breakfast instead of church. 3. There's usually a restaurant five block from where you're waiting in line that has no line at all. 99% of all brunches in Portland are better than that cereal you were going to have, so branch out and find something new.
Yeah, I usually won't wait for brunch out here. If its a good spot, I'll go during the week (most crowded places are close as I live near the beach cities) or early. On weekends, I prefer going to a greasy spoon and getting something like a chili omelette for 7 bucks. Things like Dim Sum (which I do 2-3 times per month), that's unavoidable, its a 30-45 minute wait and that's with a huge room, fast (rude) service and them trying to get you outta there.
Hell yes. Cup And Saucer's Lucky Scramble was my go-to. Within walking distance and empty before 9am.
My personal favorite is Joe's Scramble/Special which is spinach, mushrooms, eggs and ground beef. I made it a point to get it where they invented it when I was in the Bay arrrrreeaaa.
Thinking of going to either Kascka or Can Font next weekend. Anyone been? I would rather go to Kascka since I don't really get to eat russian food. I think everyone else is about Can Font.
Sorry.....the thread topic is “Best Restaurant In Portland”. If it isn’t up here in God’s country, it doesn’t exist. Every town can’t be LA.....Thank you sweet Jesus.
Yeah, but when I visit Portland I can't be bothered with inferior versions of shit I can get in LA yo!
Also, a white person's experience in an asian restaurant is different than an asian persons. We get the secret menu. :MARIS61:
I watched a video of a black guy ordering in Chinese at a restaurant. The waitress was like "you don't want that, get this instead". So I totally understand what you mean.
