Can someone PLEASE explain what in the utter fuck that 2nd quarter rotation was? Yes, this deserves its own thread. Layman, Pat, Meyers? WHAT? We had literally no offense and then they put 2 or 3 of those guys in? Is Stotts trying to get fired?
Terry. Stotts. His little experiment shifted the entire game and allowed the Kings to creep back in and make it a back and forth contest the entire rest of the way This is just one of many reasons why I do not want him as our coach.
We need to blow this team up. These guys are vets who have been together for awhile, and this is as good as it gets. Stupid to keep riding this horse to .500 records and first round exists. Keep Dame. Keep Nurk for a decent price....see what we can get for our vets, especially CJ.
People had been saying they wanted to see Jake out there instead of Harkless. So he does it and everyone gets mad. And Meyers was leading team in PER. Just trying it out. Didn't work. Biggest disappointment for me is Biggie. He can't hold onto the ball. He's been gifted an opportunity and has wilted under the bright lights. Remember when Dame said Biggie could win ROTY?
He has a meet and greet in Buffalo Wild Wings in Tualatin in 2 weeks, maybe he's trying to get out of that.
We have a lot of young players that don't play much. Average age means nothing, look at the age of our leading rotational players. They're already in their primes (ie not going to get substantionally better)
Stotts in the post-game interview said he just wanted to get Jake some minutes, since he hadn't played for a while. As for Meyers,
What I love about this place is our never-say-die attitude. Above .500 15 games into a season is the perfect time to blow it up and tank.
I actually like it. I think Stotts needs to shuffle the lineups more freely, make some experiments, be more creative, and if it sometimes means we have a lineup that isn't working, that's part of the learning process.
