This team does not have the upside to compete for championship or even have a deep playoffs run. I would not say clearly tank but we need to reshuffle a bit to become competitive, this group will not get us that. I wish we had fluked our way into top seeds last year and got Jayson Tatum, instead of losing 4-0 to Warriors. This year all of top 5 picks will be massive talents. Players like Ayton, Bagley or Bamba could change the dynamics of this team.

We had the most cap space of anyone in the league and couldn't get anyone good to come here. FA just won't come here. Melo would even allow being traded here. This tram has to build through the Draft and mid 1st round picks aren't going to do it. They need a franchise changer.
It's going to be a long season, if it continues like this for much longer I sure hope we make some significant decisions and perhaps changes on the direction we go. Unfortunately if we decide to make major changes the summer of 16's over spending spree for mediocre talent is going to make things more difficult

ET is an east-coast team player. We need to find a deal that sends him out. Nurkic, I actually have no problem with slightly underperforming this year. If we can sign him for significantly less than max then that is great. I know it isn't going to be a long-term issue with him.
ET and our 1st round pick next year for Kent Bazemore. He's a serious upgrade and a realistic target since they are floundering.
I wouldn't give him more than 70/4. Like i allways say, Nurkic is one of the most stupiedest Player in the league without any Basketball Iq. He can not play defense without Fouling and he makes to many turnovers. He can only Score around the rim or from midrange when he is open. He is not that good as i tought. And the other things is, there are not many teams with cap next summer who can and wants to give him a max. So we have absolutely no pressure for the extension. Maybe if we are lucky he accept the offer sheet just like Nerlens Noel and we have him for another year on his rookie contract, that would be the jackpot.
People don't understand what tanking is. Teams are built to tank, you don't ask players to intentionally lose games. That's what threads like these are asking. If the Blazers really wanted to tank they would bench Lillard and CJ for the rest of the season. Ain't happening.

Why burn the ship so early in the season? In the most dire situation, an assistant coach should replace Stotts. We have talent but the coaching in the last quarter is our Achilles heel.
The big problem is that the pieces don't fit Stotts system. Turner doesn't fit Stotts system yes I know why they sign him the problem he is not that great ball handler and occasional he has good shooting night. Harkless doesn't fit the system he can't shoot well enough from the outside to be effective. But he is the type player that needs come off the bench for maybe defense purposes. Then there others players on this team maybe shouldn't be in the league. The fault heavenly lies on Olshey shoulders due to he either trade for players or draft them on this team. Now this will be the same guy will tell everyone how agressive he is but really he as his finger up his ass and do nothing or wait until trade deadline and try accomplish something.
