QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ Mar 27 2007, 12:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

First of all, I just want to say that I feel bad for Jorge Garbajosa. That was just gross. Big Al looked at it and squinted then looked away. I don't know what exactly happened, however, can someone fill me in? Was it his knee/leg, ankle? Broken? Dislocated? I need info, because his entire leg flailed in the replay, knee down to ankle. He was screaming SO LOUD in so much pain. He's clearly done for the year, this is not good. He is such a solid player, too.But it was an excellent game for the Celtics. Toronto clearly didn't have their best night. Bosh is clearly not 100% and Ford really struggled tonight until the final 4 minutes of the game. But whether the Raptors played well or not, you have to hand it to the youngsters for the C's tonight. A lot of young guys stepped up and played well tonight, and I'm very happy right now. Doc DID make me wonder if he was looking to tank it when he had the scrub unit in in the 4th, but I'm happy he ended up putting the starters back in the game.See what happens when we run, Doc?Player-by-Player AnalysisRajon Rondo played outstanding basketball tonight. I absolutely love this kid, and I am completely sold that he is the point guard of the future. He can't shoot, but if he ever develops a respectable jumper, he could be an All-Star. He does EVERYTHING well, except shoot. He played very aggressive defense, he pushed the ball, he made some great passes/decisions in transition, he dropped a couple of those nice floaters, he rebounded, and he knocked down all the big free throws late in the game. This kid is a player.Big Al had another nice night. He was awesome offensively. He didn't get many post iso's tonight, but you have to give credit to Paul, Rajon, and Delonte for giving him some beautiful set-ups. Al had one huge block, he rebounded as usual, and he put that ball in the basket at a very efficient rate. But one thing he did that I absolutely LOVED was that he ran the floor VERY well. Yes, I said you have to give the guards credit for giving him some good set-ups, but Al ran the floor beautifully tonight.Paul started off hot, he played pretty well. He made some great passes and he was very aggressive offensively in the first half. In the second half, I wasn't happy with how many 3's he took, but he did have himself a very solid game.Gerald Green had an excellent game off the bench. No, he didn't score 20 points and no he didn't dunk on anybody, but he definitely had a promising game. He really was extremely aggressive all night long on both ends. He was skying high for rebounds and he definitely was active on defense. He didn't have his best shooting night early on, but he definitely took the right shots and he made a couple big momentum changing baskets (the dunk and that hail mary shot at the end of the shot clock). He also had a SICK block.Delonte also did a very solid job tonight. He was pushing the ball in transition all night long and he made some beautiful entry passes. His jumper was a little off in the second half, but the fact that he was pushing the ball that way makes me happy.Perk did a very solid job as well, despite a couple dumb fouls. He rebounded very well and his defense was above average tonight. He does need to work on not giving up those dumb fouls.Leon Powe played well tonight when he was out there. The kid works SO HARD every second he is on the floor. He was working extremely hard and using his strength/length to get those rebounds. He went up a little to hard trying to score a couple put backs, but he did a very nice job in limited minutes.Telfair played 12 minutes, Ray played 16 seconds. YES! Thank you. Bassy didn't do great, but I was pleased to see him moving his feet like that on the defensive end. He came up with a couple long rebounds as well. With some more consistent minutes, if he can actually get into a consistent rhythm again, he could have a few nice nights within these last 12 games.Player Stat LinesPaul Pierce: 23 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals on 8-20 FG, 2-9 3FG, 5-6 FTAl Jefferson: 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks on 10-14 FGRajon Rondo: 16 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists on 4-6 FG, 8-8 FTDelonte West: 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists on 6-17 FG, 1-3 3FG, 5-6 FTGerald Green: 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block on 5-11 FG, 0-2 3FGKendrick Perkins: 2 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block on on 1-2 FGLeon Powe: 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal on 0-3 FG, 4-4 FTSebastian Telfair: 4 rebounds, 1 assist on 0-2 FG, 0-1 3FGRyan Gomes: 2 rebounds, 1 assist on 0-4 FGAllan Ray: 16 secondsNext Game: Wednesday (3/28/07) at home vs. Orlando at 7:30 pm ET. I will be at the game.
It was his left leg. For anyone that didn't catch the game, Garbo was chasing down Al Jefferson on a fast break, tried to block it, and then ended up landing really awkwardly on his leg. After he was down, he started to make some very loud screams of pain. I could not bare to listen to his screams, it was just brutal....all I heard is that he was rushed to a Boston hospital. We'll see what happens....it's definately not looking good though.Anyway, on to the game. It was f*cking terrible. TJ Ford was on fire after the Garbo injury, he attacked the rim relentlessly, and had a bunch of lay ups and trips to the line, and even sunk a clutch 3. I thought he has a really nice passing game also...but struggled scoring wise before that burst. Chris Bosh might have had his worst game of the year. He wasn't making any shots, and when he tried to attack, he got the ball stripped away from him. It was painful to watch, absolutely attrocious game.Calderon did not do anything, neither did Mo or Jorge either....We hit the 72 point mark with a little over 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter, and that's what we had at halftime during our route over Denver last game....Anthony Parker played real well though. He didn't take it in much, but was great shooting wise. That was good to see atleast. For Boston, Al Jefferson has great touch inside, I ddint see MUCH of a back to the basket game, but he has amazing touch inside, and with his phisique, he can just catch it, and then loft it up there. Delonte West is an excellent shooter, he hit some shots today. Looked good scoring wise. Rajon Rondo looked really good today. He is an amazing passer, folks. I saw a ton of really nice dishes, and he had a few very nice passes to Paul Pierce behind the 3 pt line that just werent converted. And also Paul Pierce....He wasnt making long range shots, but his mid range game was very solid, and he was attacking really well. Good game for Paul, I think he had like 16 or 18 at the half, although I missed the 2nd quarter.....Overall, attrocious game. If we brought anything at all tonight, we would have beaten these guys. One more thing to add. We made WAY too many turnovers, and we weren't rebounding. The effort and intensity wasnt there until it was too late....Congrats on the win guys....but don't shove it in our face....you guys only won because we played like sh*t...

Well, we didn't "only win" because you didn't play well, you can't just sit here and not give us any credit. We played very hard all night long and our young guys played well as a whole.

About Al Jefferson's back to the basket game, it's DEFINITELY there. We were playing run and gun ball tonight, though, thanks to Rondo. Al didn't get many post iso's at all tonight, he usually gets a lot. He's one hell of a post player.

A win is a win, no excuses...you dont see any * in the win column explaining why this team won or what not. Anyways I didnt see the game but I saw highlights at Garbo's injury looks serious, I think hes gone for the season so hopefully he'll be ready to lace up the shoes for 07/08!I almost forgot, in your pregame thingy you wrote that Slokar was undrafted, he went 58th or 56th (I cant remember) in the 06 draft, cheers.

Yes, some Raptors did not have their best game, but so what? Maybe that had SOMETHING to do with our players fighting and playing very aggressively? I mean come on, you have to give the Celtics credit too.

About Al's post moves, here.. watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg3yACaFzRI (yeah, I made it)

Most of the Raptors played poorly. But so what. There are nights that your shot wont fall in. Im not complaining. And there are nights when the other team gets lucky bounces. And it happened again tonight. We played alright considering those circumstances. I am disappointed in Mitchell for overplaying Garbo and Bosh. I am disappointed in the team for not fouling the Celtics, and instead TJ Ford had to run back and do that. Giving him 6 fouls and ending the comeback. He had 19 pts in the 4th. And hopefully we can rebound vs the Wiz and Heat whom we are fighting against in the standings.

If Ford hadn't thrown the ball into the backcourt and just layed it up, we wouldn't have had to foul and woulda actually had a shot! Then again, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't even be close so its ok.

I got a question, its really off-topic but whats with the black strap on team jerseys? For example look at playaofthegame's sig, where Rondo has the black strap on the right side of the jersey. Iv been seeing it on pretty much every team in the NBA, whats up with that?!?! I was thinking since Adidas is the new sponsor some teams which are still using the old Reebok jersey have to cover up the RBK logo....I know it sounds dumb but thats the only reason I can think of them having that black strap.

We've won 21 games, yes you are correct. Are you telling me that when healthy, we aren't in playoff contention right now? If we didn't get absolutely murdered with injuries this year, we'd be in the hunt for the 7th/8th seed right now. Pierce has missed like 25 games, Wally has been screwed all year and he's finished for the year, you all know what happened to TA (our 3rd best player), Perk is still playing through plantar fasciitis, Al Jefferson missed 2 weeks with an appendectomy, Delonte has had some minor injuries, Gomes has missed over 10 games, Ratliff has played 2 games (would be our starting center), Scal has, even Kandi Man. Hell, Tommy Heinsohn (announcer) has even had back surgury, we've been CRUSHED with huge injuries to our best players. We would definitely be in the playoff hunt.

But regardless of the injuries or what has happened earlier this year, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you are giving the Celtics absolutely NO CREDIT at all for that win. Give me a break.

Ahh damn. Jorge got messed up badly. When I seen that, I was like oh my f*cking god. Just the way Al looked at him then turned around was terrible. Get well soon man.Anyways, good game. What up with putting Allen Ray for only 16 seconds though?!?! We should just keep our younger guys in the game alot more IMO.

I did mention that the Raptors did not play their best basketball. I never disputed that, but it just bugged me a bit that you gave the Celtics absolutely zero credit whatsoever. That's all.
