However I understand the concept. It could get huger, but it sounds like nitpicking from the NBA to me. I mean it was probably a kid he made the bet with. Sounds like an old Globetrotters story.

This is not right at all, and the League did the right thing by scolding Arenas for this before it could get out of hand.

It was un-professional and could turn into a mess with people becoming extremely selfish and making bets about scoring a certain amount of points are certain amount of assists and ruin the integrity of the game, but honestly Gil was gonna take that final shot anyways and he had already predicted the 50 anyways.

It's not that bad, but it's not very good for the NBA to be going against betting and so forth while one of its own players is betting. He didn't get fined, so I would consider myself lucky if I were him. The NBA is lucky that it hasn't had to deal with betting like the MLB has with the Black Sox thing back in the day and the Pete Rose thing not quite so long ago.
