Yeah. Even Pat has had a couple of decent games since they stuck him in the rotation. Gotta throw them against the wall and see if they will stick. Although I know having them shoot 100 three pointers in a row with an assistant coach and then writing a story about in the Oregonian is important to the Blazers.
"Harkless said. “I’m pretty much in a position where I’m just waiting around and you have to pass me the ball. A lot of times I’m open and guys may miss me or I make a cut and they miss me. I just have to keep playing, I can’t worry about that stuff.’’ That happens far to frequently not only with Harkless but many other players.
Agreed. It's gotta be tough to watch the guy you thought had your back lobby all summer long to trade you for a washed-up all-star. Moe clearly has hurt feelings due to what transpired over the summer, and it's affecting his play. It's disappointing, but it's not at all surprising for young people to let their emotions affect their performance. Hopefully Dame figures out a way to mend the fence and get Harkless back into the mix. But until that happens, Terry needs to step up to the plate and do his job.
I got a feeling he just does not want to be here anymore, was probably hoping to get traded to the Knicks and was frustrated when it all fell apart. I would do a deal with Knicks involving O'Quinn and Lee on their side and Harkless plus another player, preferably Leonard on our side. Lee has a bad contract but could contribute to this team, O'Quinn is sort of a perfect back up center although on an expiring deal. Otherwise just look for another team that will take Harkless and send back small assets. Nets would be a viable destination as they are also NY based but they are fine at small forward with Carroll who they cannot trade anyway. I would not mind trading him to Lakers for Randle, they have too many power forwards and not enough small forwards so it could work.
Uh, Harkless falls asleep on defense all the time, and consistent makes boneheaded mistakes or doesn't hustle. I'd be offering Davis to BOS for their 1st, and use the BOS 1st, our 1st, and Harkless to try and get Gallinari from LAC.
I think this captures it in a nutshell. After a season of starting you just get the sense he doesn't have that hunger or fear anymore that comes from wondering if he is doing enough to keep his job. He's easily our worst starter now that Vonleh has kicked it up a notch on the defensive end. Reminds me a lot of Leonard, where you just give him minutes for a couple years because there aren't a lot of other options. I am counting the days for Aminu to return and yank Mo's job away. I've been a massive critic of Vonleh until this year, but I have to admit he's taken a massive stride in his defense and rebounding--particularly in defense. It's to the point now where I think you have to consider him the team's best overall defender. Nurk is a better team defender, and Aminu is a better man-on-man guy, but if you just watch Vonleh out there he does so many little things the right way on every possession. Factor in the great job he does on screens, and you have to start Vonleh now, which makes Mo the odd man out.
I don't know. It was said (by Quick, I think), that he was the hardest worker this summer. Probably he expected to be used more this year and that hasn't happened. I agree with him that a player needs more usage to get into a rhythm. Apparently Stotts tried to run plays for him at the beginning of a couple games; that may not be the best idea. It's kind of forcing it and maybe putting too much pressure on him. I think he just wants to be used more, passed to more when he is open at the three and passed more to when he cuts to the basket. I think his efficiency would improve with more usage. As posters keep pointing out, we are the lowest assist team in the league. Coaches need to do better to change the offense, to get more people involved. At the same time, until they do that, Harkless needs to step up his focus on defense, his rebounding and keep hustling.
http://www.nbcsports.com/northwest/...ss-and-his-struggles-i-feel-im-just-out-there Must read. “I just feel like I’m just out there to be out there … I don’t know,’’ Harkless said Wednesday after he had 1 point, zero rebounds, zero assists and zero blocks or steals in the Blazers’ 101-81 loss in Philadelphia. Harkless has never been a player whose value is best measured by statistics. He is primarily a defender, whose value is enhanced by his ability to switch and guard anyone from forwards to guards on pick-and-rolls.
Harkless said. “Every game it’s the same thing … we play through three people.’’ Wow. Ok i know this is true, but is sad to read that from Hark.
Fucking Quick. Jumping at an opportunity to get a story while there is one. Moe can't shoot. Moe won't even see time when Aminu gets back into the rotation. This is not even a story. Just fucking Jason "Drama Queen" Quick trying to get clicks.
