Not even close to the same thing. If the angry drunk guy buys tons of great parts to fix my car (judges that uphold the constitution) and doesn't do anything else to my car I can still use the parts after he's fired.

Hell even Susan Sarandon agrees with me for different reasons....

The angry drunk guy might buy you the parts that you think you want, but he's also going to smash up the rest of your car with his sledgehammer, at least until he passes out. And it might turn out that those expensive parts are actually for a washing machine instead of your car.

Do you really think that guy who has never tried a case but does hunt ghosts is going to make a great judge? Why?

That alone should make you reconsider your position.

Normally anything Susan Sarandon thinks is so completely opposite what I think that YOU'RE the ones who should rethink things.

If she's telling you Hillary is bad....omg

Subject of the thread suggests the cognitive dissonance is not specific to the democrats.

@bodyman5000 and 1 , I'm curious exactly what you are eager for these judges to do. Stop abortions? Make sure absolutely anyone can get a gun, no matter how violent they might be? Those two things seem to be at the top of the "upholding the constitution" list for many others, just wondering whether you have a different set of issues you are concerned about, judge-wise.

None of those things. And all of those things.

I don't care if another gun gets sold or if abortion quadruples.

What I care about is following the letter of the law. If the Republicans could pass a bill that follows the constitution and somehow outlaws abortion....good for them...... don't like it, repeal it. If they can't pass one that is allowed by the constitution.....good.

If the dems can pass a law that restricts gun owners and is constitutional..same thing.

I don't want the constitution treated like a traffic cop giving you a pass for speeding if you're taking your wife to the hospital to give birth.

I'm fine with that cop doing so but only if he has the legal authority to do so. Not just because I agree with it.

There isn't a single law I want interpreted based on my feelings. Not one.

I don't want to hear about the court doing anything that is in the least bit political. Sorry

And you think that right-wing judges are somehow not political?

Less likely is all you can count on. By the slimmest of margins.

Trump is the only one who even said he'd appoint judges that would uphold the constitution.

Yep, him saying it is the winning choice between the two. Pretty sad.

The color red is MUCH more important in the United States than blue, but outside the U.S. the color blue is still a major source of fake news, and blue represents our nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them! Even Russia likes the color red.

What's sad is that you believed something - anything - he said. Did you not notice that he's completely full of shit?

I'm curious what past court decisions you think went against the constitution - I assume there must be some or this wouldn't be something you'd be a single-issue voter on.

You would believe anything Hilary said?

I have shit to do at work or I'd spend a half hour finding all the proof of her lies...well, just a small sample anyway.

Illegal immigration is the main issue I voted on. The court was just in response to your analogy.

If there was a more right leaning Bernie Sanders he would have been my choice. Trump was the slightly lesser of two evils.

He still is, he's just nuttier than I thought.

I've been saying someone needs to get him off twitter since the beginning. It is 95 percent of what's hurting him.

Throwing in an unnecessary Pocahontas reference is part of the other 5.

I just don't get the guy.

So if neither of them is believable, isn't it kind of nonsensical to vote based on what either of them did or didn't say?

Ah, ok. So, are you happy with the results on that front?

All I wanted was Bernie and we never got a chance to vote for him. :(

To me, upholding the constitution is like letting your ex-girlfriend come back to live with you. Sure, you like what they use to bring, but it's been clear over time that it wasn't working and changes needed to be made. You learned that you needed to change your ways to become a better person. Sure, there are things that are still good about them, absolutely. But you wouldn't want to take it at a totality...

Change is good. Embrace it. Stop living scared and make changes to better yourself.

Flame me all you want, but for the love of god lets make our society a loving place where we take care of each other. Call me a SJW, but that just tells me that I care about other people and getting others the help and care they need to feel appreciated and heard. Getting real tired of hearing all these groups of people getting hurt because of something they have no control over. If that were you, wouldn't you wanted to be treated fairly? Have some empathy.
    Please, lets just love people.

I liked Obama. Never thought he was really as idealistic as everyone said. I do think he's living in a pretty fat pad these days.

Somewhere I've said here that the first time I heard him speak at the DNC (convention) that I'd vote for him.

I still hate when he didn't flatly tell that girl who interviewed him that illegals should be afraid to vote. But, I'd have deported my own aunt if I were him.

Somewhat. I work with 15 Mexicans, some who were Reagan amnesty recipients. They say (could be fucking with me) that lots of them are saving to retire back home and that some of the younger ones at home are deciding not to come.

Never wanted a wall, think it is stupid. Just the idea that ICE can do their job is a good start.

I know people will lob that Obama deported more than anyone crap and we all know that's bull.
