The Hutt in charge just called Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" in front of some Native Code Talkers...

How much of this are you conservatives gonna take? How long are you gonna continue to back him??

Trump calls Warren 'Pocahontas' at event honoring Native American veterans

President Trump on Monday referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as “Pocahontas” at an event honoring Native American “code talkers” who served in World War II.

"You were here long before any of us were here,” Trump said, standing beneath a portrait of former President Andrew Jackson. “Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas.”

Turning to the veterans, Trump said "but do you know what? I like you."

The president made the remark in the Oval Office standing beside three Navajos who helped the U.S. Marine Corps develop a secret code during the Second World War. The three “code talkers” did not react to Trump’s remark.

Trump has repeatedly used the derisive nickname to refer to Warren, poking fun at her claim of Native American heritage.

“This was supposed to be an event to honor heroes, people who put it all on the line for our country,” Warren said later on MSNBC. “It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States can’t even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without throwing out a racial slur.”

But Trump's top spokesperson defended his comment, saying "Pocahontas" is not a racial slur.

“I think what most people find offensive is Sen. Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters.

Trump during the event also referred to White House chief of staff John Kelly as “chief.”

“He’s the general and the chief,” the president said. “I said, how good were these code talkers? He said, ‘sir, you have no idea. You have no idea how great they were.’ ”

And under his breath, Kelly added "because you have no idea about anything, you ignorant asshole."

I guess I'd have to understand the logic in calling her that if I were to know it was racist.

I remember Pocahontas being a real Native American so it doesn't really make much sense.

As if we needed more proof of what an embarrassment this president and his enablers are to this country

Just read some about Pocahontas. She converted to Christianity and changed her name to Rebecca. I guess that's the point?

Who knows?

How is that racist? Is Pocahontas a racial slur now?

So would it be racist if the president with disdain referred to me as "Jerome"?

Figure it the fuck out...

Tried to find out if Native Americans would even care about her if she converted to Christianity and white people loved her. Googled it and tons of hits about this story even though I didn't reference it.

Then found this from good old AlJazeera

Apparently they really don't give a shit.

What does any of that have to do with anything? The guy you voted for only brought up Warren because there were Natives there, he only referred to her in that manner because she COULD FUCKING BE 1/32nd Native.

I just did my DNA a few months ago.

I'm 12% Scandinavian!!! I'm 2% Irish!!! I'm only 1% Native.

I'm literally more white than Native...

What does any of what you're talking about do that makes it racist?

I get that he referenced it because there were Native Americans there.

I guess if the Warriors did go to the White House and Trump just had to say how much he loved fried chicken it could be racist.

I just don't see how it is so terrible. He refers to it because he thinks she embellished it to further her career. Even CNN said that can't be proven or disproven.

I don't know if she did or not, really don't care.

My take is:

He is racist. I don't know enough to know if what he said here was racist, so I'm not going to piggyback on it just because. I'll research it. Which really, everyone should do anyway. And go to a source, not the news. Totally different things.

As per usual, anything that Trump accuses someone else of, he is guilty of himself:

Trump questioned the legitimacy of the Native Americans’ heritage, telling Imus, “I would perhaps become an Indian myself.” He added, “I think I might have more Indian blood than a lot of the so-called Indians that are trying to open up the reservations.”

Trump made similar comments while testifying before a House subcommittee later that same year, saying that the Mashantucket Pequot tribe in Connecticut didn’t “look like Indians to me.”

Compared to some of the other shit he has said, this is pretty tame. Just another example of him being a classless douche though.

With that said, she has never really been able to prove that she's actually Native American.

Who's been able to prove different?

You should really quit defending him. Proven or not when it comes to Warren's heritage, he still called her Pocahontas. And for those of you who don't think it's racist... Get a damn clue...

The concentration on the validity of her heritage says a lot...

Why would there be ANY focus on that?

Because she is a political enemy and if she lied about her heritage to get ahead that is ammo against her.

If she said she donated 10 million to Goodwill and Trump thought she lied he'd bring it up. EVEN knowing he lied about the same shit.

I don't know that calling her Pocahontas is racist in and of itself.

How could he refer to her lying about it (if she did) without you calling it racist?

I knew as soon as I saw this a bunch of progressives would start getting offended for Natives in their place. Calling her "Ward Churchill" would be more accurate though.

Too much bull in this post. Please answer the question below

So would it be racist if the president with disdain referred to me as "Jerome"?

If you were a white person claiming african american heritage your analogy would be on point. He is poking fun at her claiming native heritage, when she is clearly predominantly white. Is it in poor taste? Yea, especially for a president. Is it racist? Not really. If Trump clamed to be some minute fraction native American that shit would be on SNL and every other late night show being hosed with Indian puns.

Foolish. Her claiming to be part Native (most of us are) means he needs to deride her heritage????

I think it's hilarious how y'all scramble to defend this piece of shit...

You might be my cousin, bro. My late uncle really got into genealogy stuff and had a black guy contact him about our Scandinavian ancestors because he had some and even had a Scandinavian viking surname.

Warren is a piece of crap who likely lied about her heritage to gain favor. Trump is a piece of crap who is incapable of bettering himself to act like an adult. hope they both get hit by a meteorite.

Trump is 100% racist. He’s the kind of racist who might not even know he’s racist. He’s also below average IQ imo. It’s a bad combo. But he is 100% racist.
