<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In the past five games, Kobe Bryant has averaged 54 points per game. Think about that for a moment. Fifty four! Most importantly, the Los Angeles Lakers won all five, reversing a seven-game losing streak that had threatened to ruin their season. In effect, Bryant placed the entire team on his shoulders and willed it back into a positive state. The Lakers are now confident again, they have Luke Walton and Lamar Odom back from injuries and they're no longer looking like road kill for the West's top seeds come playoff time. And they owe it all to Kobe. His offensive game is so good, so fundamentally sound in every aspect, that it may be time to debate whether or not he's the most complete offensive player in the history of the NBA. I'm not talking about the best player ? there are plenty of players who rank well ahead of Bryant in that category. I'm simply wondering if there has ever been a player with a more complete skill set with footwork, ball handling, perimeter shooting and leaping ability.</div>http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=sk-r...o&type=lgnsRespects from Kerr. :dribble:
I agree... I think Kobe is indeed the greatest offensive NBA player in the league's history... I think he's surpassed greats like Wilt (as far as jump shooting efficiency), MJ (offense only!) and others of course like AI, DWade and LeBron.... I'm talking offense only, Kobe is the best. His defense is damned good too though!

I think MJ may have been a little better also, but I didn't get to watch enough of him to decide.
Are we talking about purely scoring? Give me MJ over Kobe. MJ was abolsutely unstoppable no matter how physical the defense was, could score just as mnay points as Kobe, and did it on well over 50% shooting. His leaping ability and footwork trumps Kobe's. Only thing Kobe has on MJ as a scorer is 3pt shot.As for overall offensively, then you gotta consider Magic, Oscar, etc...But Kobe is definately top 5 offensively all time, if not top 3.
I agree that Kobe is playing amazing and all. But I have a question. Why wasn't he trying to do it when they were in the losing streak?

Luke and Lamar came back and have been contributing is a huge way. Luke with his passing and jumpshots and Lamar with a little bit of everything, especially rebounding. During the losing steak, Kobe was still playing great, but he can't do it alone. He can go for 60 but when your key teammates are injured, regardless it won't matter. Kobe finally had enough as it built up inside him, with all the suspensions and the losing. Pissed Kobe=Best Kobe on the court.
