I'm just going to be sad when they mothball the Dvdxpress by my house someday. I much prefer it to going to a blockbuster.

I remember renting ataris when I was a kid. Good times.

Redbox pretty much wiped them out here...and the library started buying all the new movies which you could put on hold and watch for free..

Watched and old movie last night at a friends house in Ojia. He has a collection of nearly a thousand old ones from the 30s, 40s and 50s.

This one was about the Brits battling the Nazis in pre WWII Africa. George Sanders is the main man but Dorthy Dandridge was in it.
Dang! They had hers decked out as savage princess to marvel at. I would love to watch the reaction by the correct crowd to this flick!:cool2:

NEtflix was the beginning of the end for movie rental stores.
    Hollywood video
    Blockbuster
    Movies only

The few stores left have one foot in the grave.

Combine that with dvr’s and on demand and prime and all the other options to find and watch movies and I’m really surprised any are left at all.

I was just in Ojai last week, love that place.

The "correct crowd" has the great fortune of being flooded with pictures of all the Kardashian/Jenner sisters decked out like that multiple times a day. Yay.

Naw! Those Kardashian chicks totally lack the class of Dorthy in this flick. Then you need to see the scene where the indigenous guy was asking the boss brit for Dorthy for his wife. After much banter the big boss grants the request. The dance begins. Geez it was well done!

Blockbuster was a "meteor" business. VCR tapes went to the wayside quite like 8 tracks.
The poor dudes that worked there are probably working at a movie chain like AMC, Regal or Lowes.

We’d have been drooling as heavily as you. Men are dogs and all the political persuasion in the world will never change that. And I am guilty as anyone who wants to charge me.,,.

@MarAzul how are your friends doing? My friend that I was visiting went to work yesterday and then her neighborhood got an evacuation order. All she had was her car and the clothes on her back. Now her parents and brother's family have been ordered to evacuate this morning. She just got word her place is still standing, she's up by Thomas Aquinas College, but there's no air support. I'm praying for a miracle, so sad.
