I understand his decision, it's his dream job. But that doesn't mean we can't be pissed at him for potentially setting our program back a few years. Shit for all we know, they had this all planned out for months and he was busy recruiting for FSU on Oregon's dime. Good ol boys

Cool. Less focus on athletics in college. I consider that a win!

I completely disagree with Dickie V. The kids are a lot more important than the football program. If the kids want to keep their commitment, follow the coach, go to the rival, or not play at all, it should be completely up to them. Why should they be restricted just because a coach made a decision?

The kids are generally committing to a coach anyhow. The personal 'father figure' man is a whole lot more important than the location a school is located at.

Levitt leaving is a worst case scenario. Well this bridge was going to be crossed sooner than later anyways. They made a great hire last year, they can do it again.

I thought Leavitt said no? Either way, he's leaving for K State when it opens up.

Set backs are fine. Get the right guy and move forward

Leavitt not gone yet. Justin Hopkins, who IMHO, knows more about the program than anyone, tweeted that.

Also Leavitt tweeted he has never mislead. Reports of him leaving might be premature

Hindsight is always 20/20 but......if I’m looking for a coach to lead my school into the future and a hot young commodity walks through the door with a resume that has him jumping from school to school, always looking for something bigger and better, and that candidate has coached 3 separate teams to bowl games but has only stuck around to coach one of those bowl games, I take a breath and then I take a pass on the guy. The Ducks have nobody to blame but themselves. Taggart arrived at U of O wearing a sandwich sign that said loyalty was not a quality he held dear. You get what you pay for........

What were the replies of the people they interviewed:

    Chip Kelly: No
    Tom Herman: No
Scott Frost already stated in an interview he would take the job when asked.
Matt Rhule turned them down for Baylor. BAYLOR! A team that is awash in sex scandal.
Who was left.... PJ Fleck? He's a coed scandal away from being kicked off campus. And they already had a basketball coach who got to comfy with campus employees.

They had to take a chance on somebody and failed. Given the dumpster fire at UT it could be a lot worse.
