Oregon wants recruiting and stability most of all. How many more years does Leavitt have coaching? I think giving him a raise and making sure then new coach kept him would be great though. Hiring Leavitt as HC would be like Kentucky getting Rich Brooks until they found somebody else.
No quality coach is going to want to come here if they can't pick their own staff. If you don't think your new coach is qualified to do that why would you hire them? We didn't make Willie keep the coaches that had been here for decades and that worked out just fine. I really like Leavitt and hope he stays but making the new coach keep him is silly. If the new coach wants Leavitt then hopefully we make him an offer he can't refuse, but if not, it's not the end of the world.
No way for you to know, but it still hurts to think about that missed kick. HE WAS PERFECT ON THE YEAR!!! Only vid that would be worse than that one would be the pick Favre threw in the 2010 NFC title game.
I like Sumlin at the top of my list, followed by Cristabol. I know coaches like to hand pick their assistants, I suspect if Sumlin comes in one stipulation would be that he keep at least Mario.
I heard he's a great recruiter, and as honest with his recruits as the day is long. Wait, when's the shortest day of the year?
I don't want Sumlin. I wanna see Cristobal as HC for the bowl then make a decision after that. And extend Leavitt, give the dude 1.5mil a season... keep that man!
I think Phil Knight should take his anger out on FSU by having Nike subtly weaving "Fuck The Seminoles" into the fabric of their uniforms. Something that only shows up when the lights for TV interviews is shined on them.
Canzano....like him or not, has been on top of this story, keeps hearing Tedford is an option. If that happens, Mullens needs to go.
Reading the tea leaves and between the lines, my gut feeling is it will come down to Sumlin and Cristobal. The other names are just due process IMO. If Cristoball is retained I think there is a good chance Leavitt gets a large offer to stay on as Associate Head Coach/ DC. If Sumlin is hired then Chavis is a great DC as well, so I think we are covered either way.
