IMO it's safe to say LOTS of police officers are suffering from PTSD. No one will even talk about the mental problems they could have from dealing with the worst of us at the worst of times.
Freaked out cops do not admit they are freaked out. My story: Years ago, traffic was cutting through a convenience store lot to avoid a light. The owners have it in with the cops because coffee is their aphrodisiac. I went through the lot, decided not to buy and was corralled with the other crud into a mall lot. The cop at the lot intersection was going ape shit. I mean he needed chill pills. If he held that weapon people would be starch white in fear. I got a ticket but the court reduced it as a "special" favor with the prosecutor. It was and is always bullshit.
Reading about unjust stops is sort of funny to me as of the last couple years. The MarAzul has been out and about for three seasons now and I have been stop, checked and even searched 11 time now in these years. The last was about 23 miles off shore, the nearest land was Cape Mendocino. Boarded by armed US Coast Guardsmen off a US Cutter. Damn! I was not even in US territory. They gave me (the MarAzul) a safe inspection and a compliance inspection complete with a document that she passed. Now you tell me with all the shit going down these days, how is it that the MarAzul rates so dang much attention?
More cops should have to do work with memtally handicapped i think. I use to work with the special ed kids in high school and i watched a lot of mental health patients when i worked at hospital. Maybe when you see people who dont always understand or fidget and shit they wouldnt be so scared in these situations. The question is are they shooting because they are scared or do they just want to kill someone?
