In my mind, the Hornets and Bobcats are prettly close to having a rivalry, just as soon as they become playoff teams. Okafor is the Bobcats low postman that they can rely on to defend the basket and grab rebounds. West is the go to guy down low to drive it in and also to hit jumpshots. They both are two young up-and-comers and this league. Which one will get to the All-star game first, as well as the playoffs. :dunno:

I will have to say David West. Okafor since he came to the league he has been not much help to the bobcats except just sitting on the bench being injured. If he can have at least 1 or 2 healthy seasons, then Okafor would help the bobcats make it close to the playoffs and he will be the all star first. But for now I would have to say West after his break out season last year and continuing that on to this year.

Emeka Okafor. Much better defender, rebounder, shotblocker....offensively it's West has the advantage but defense clearly puts Okafor on top. West has missed more games this year than Okafor.

I agree with BCB. Not only does Emeka once in a whiel get you 20 points, but hes a excellent rebounder, shotblocker, defender in general. IMO, will get alot better on offense...which is alot easier than getting better on defense. He can turnout to be a Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning type player.

EASILY Okafor, I really don't think this should even be a debate. I definitely like David West a lot, don't get me wrong, he's very underrated. But when you look at the conferences they are in, it's an easy answer. Okafor has to compete with some good guys, yes, but it's not what West goes up against. I mean we're talking Dirk, Duncan, KG, Gasol, Marion, Boozer, etc. I mean there are so many superstar forwards in the West, I don't see West getting a ticket to the All-Star game any time soon.

Okafor is better as it is, but the competition out west is just too much.

Yeah, there are too many great forwards in the west for West to get in the all star game anytime soon. Okafor is the more dominant player especially on defense, but West's hornets will prob. make the playoffs first (I'm thinkin' next year if they are all healthy), West also has the shooting advantage with range. If I had to pick, I would go with Okafor.

This shouldn't even be an argument. Okafor is far and away the better player, and IMO has a shot at being an all star next year. West has hardly no shot, especially since he's in the Western Conference.

Emeka. One reason is that Emeka will probably be on the ballot as a Center, which means it would be alot easier for him to make it....2nd reason.....Emeka is an amazing defensive player, and rebounder, and he will get you 15 or so on offense too. I also think he has much more of an upside than David West.
