1. This is an assumption. Period. 2. Crabbe was playing through a significant injury in the playoffs. 3. We were a better team with Crabbe. If his production was disappointing than what would Connaughtons be described as? You know the guy you say is the better player. 4. They dealt him for NOTHING. That screams they just wanted as much of his salary off the books as possible. Cost cutting.
Agreed. If Portland was a title contender, this would be a non-issue. However, we're not & there's no realistic viable trade Portland can do in the next 2 months (before the trade deadline) to change that. Therefore Portland will be looking to dump about $4M in salary soon to avoid the tax. Until Portland has a viable path forward to be a 'contender', every move will be looked at with the tax implications
They delt him for less than nothing. Nothing would have been a good deal. Portland ate $20M of Nicholson salary just to get rid of Crabbe.
Patty Mills got 4 years - $50 million. https://www.basketball-reference.co...ills&y2=2018&player_id2=millspa02&idx=players Cliff notes - Bazz shoots a better percentage while averaging the same points in 10 less minutes per game.
I know I’ve mentioned Denver before, but instead of Beasley, how about a trade for Barton? He’s a free agent but we’d get his bird rights I believe. Barton is still tight with Lillard and would want to stay imo.
I like Bazz but at time it's unlikely we can keep him, I'b be ecstatic if we could use him to help dump Meyers w/o giving up a 1st rdr
Lebron was right about him, it's just a shame we have all of this other highly paid scrubs on the bench and we'll have to trade him away.
If we did that we'd need to get a starting SG who is bigger than CJ and can shoot the 3-pointer. So you're basically saying trade CJ for a bigger CJ...which doesn't seem likely.
Let's be honest, NOBODY likes Turner! Also, the evidence that's been pointed to about LBJ/Turner doesn't seem like anything other than a little on-court trash talk - hardly think it's the sort of thing that would affect a trade. Now, Turner's basketball abilities OTOH...
I love 'Bazz, thought he was ready for quite a long time now as a great backup pg & definitely a starter in this league. Now... to answer ur question about NY, do they have anything we need specifically about Beasley... that's a no on him. I c where u r going w/ him on the court (still 1 of the toughest guys to guard 1 on 1, lots of offensive talent) but locker room-wise, he'd b poison for our guys/bad influence. Also, think about this: the man likes the smell of his own farts! Let's "keep Portland weird," not gross Now back to does NY have anything that we'd want (that doesn't involve 'Bazz or any1 else around this talent level or higher), I say we nab Willy Hernangomez. Guy gets no PT anymore (not sure why) but he's a walkin' double double!
I don’t know why NY keeps getting mentioned as a landing spot for Napier? They have their PG of the future. Yes he could probably guard twos but he’s a young player that should spend the majority of his time developing at point guard first. Phoenix, Denver, Indiana, New Orleans, LAC, Utah, and Detroit all seem like better fits. If the clippers blow it up I’d love to see us get our hands on Teodosic and maybe even Gallinari. That deal could allow us to dump Turner and/or Meyers
