There really needs to be a better New Years Eve song. The Old Ayn Rand one sucks.

Guess the first song they played after the ball dropped?

I watched my/(no....The Ravens) kill themselves! Absolutely....They ice pick all their fans. I'm going to blacken the logo eye ball out and put in a cross indicating their death. 76146ed26d255935a8a855943f8d957a.jpg < Moon over Baltimore!!!!

They should resurrect the remains of Dick Clark and have Ryan Seacrest interact with him!

Yes. Two days ago I watched a Utube vid with an amazingly young Dick Clark interview Mark Lindsay (lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders who I followed when I was 12) Lindsay was really clear and Clark had great questions. Worth your curiosity! Like to hear your take on it! Right now I'm listening to The James Gang Live Album from the Filmore (circa 1971-"That was a great summer") !!!!!

That is great! He also invested in real estate at the age of 22 in Oregon and Idaho. Can you imagine the real estate price values in 1967? He said he bought land in one area which became a small mall. He is very articulate and has his shit together!

He always did, which helped get the Raiders their own TV show. His even temperament was good at skirting all sides in Hollywood, conservative and liberal. Here he is comedically playing both sides of the sex issue alongside John Byner, a comedian I watched many times on the Johnny Carson Show. Then he sings a song written by my cousin which maxed at about #25-30 in Los Angeles where I lived.

As for the guy who started this thread--Denny, I hope your health remains strong. Don't make like Paul Allen; let's see you sometimes.

Recently heard that when he moved back as a teenager he worked at the old gas station that used to be at the corner of Wilsonville Rd and Boones Ferry Rd. (Since torn down for a Fred Meyer). Back then this was the absolute boonies, a way stop on the road to Salem and points south. Probably as close to a celebrity as Wilsonville will ever have (with apologies to Walt Morey.....)

Listen to "Tighter". Although the lyrics are corny, the bass line is remarkably complicated for a 1968 band. I think the fact that your cousin wrote a song used by them is outstanding!

I'm listening. It wasn't a hit, but it's good. Was that 1968? I was going to say that the song's psychedelic sound effects were in vogue in 1967-68 hits, and were extinguished soon after Nixon took over. He declared war on the media and rock and roll was dead by the end of 1975, along with the leading magazines and a couple of leading newspapers.
