I agree with pretty much all of this as well. As long as making changes to the bench wasn’t the only move and wouldn’t be expected to make a dramatic enough of impact to catapult us into contention then I’m on board.

IMO there is a series of moves that will need to be done, trading CJ likely will be one of those moves, but I agree that it doesn’t NEED to be done now. If we can somehow add a stud SF to the current roster, then make changes to the bench, I’d be interested to see where that would put us. I’m just not sure how likely that is. PG was our real chance at that last summer.

But talking about trade scenarios for a player like CJ is a whole lot more fun than talking about trade packages for a player like Harkless lol.

I've been trying to think of a deal involving a lottery pick for CJ, and the Cavs are a good candidate. Tristan Thompson/Calderon/Shumpert and their lottery pick via Boston via Brooklyn for CJ and Ed Davis would work. Pretty big gamble given that Brooklyn isnt exactly tanking, but it's still early. I think Thompson has 2 years left and might work well with Nurkic. Would the Cavs bite?

The Nets currently have the 9th worst record in the league. They may drop, but you'd seriously trade CJ and Ed for a prospective No. 9 pick and a bunch of role players? Count me as a Hell No!

I'm always asking people to think as if you were the other team in these trade scenarios because usually they are so 1 sided in Portland's favor. This one though is pretty bad for Portland.

IMHO, Olshey is affraid to trade CJ.

That being said, we need a do over. We aren't getting by the Warriors, Sprockets or Blunder anytime soon.

I think the real question is what could you realistically get for Dame, CJ and Nurk

Nurk is only 23. If you're doing a rebuild, what's the point of trading him?

Injury concerns. Not worth the max contract he's going to demand.

Please tell me how Nurk and Thompson work together. If there's anyone that's overpaid its Tristan Thompson.

PLUS... The LAST thing I want is this trick sitting courtside at our games....

Not to mention that Khloe Kardashian is dating Tristan Thompson. So another celebrity gets on the Blazers band wagon baby!!

This week on keeping up with the kardashians... Damian Lillard and Tristan Thompson caught drinking like fish at 45 east!

Dame steals Kim from Kanye and then throws in the towel on basketball to prove he is the best rapper in the game.

How dare you?! This thread is about making CJ the scapegoat of this team failures.
If you don't think that trading CJ for a side-grade will fix everything then you are not wanted here.

I thought maybe after 8 pages at least one trade scenario would be intriguing......

    Dame (3 first round picks)
    CJ (2 first round picks)
Nurk (maybe a first round pick, but he is young)
