Thoracic outlet surgery to help with the blood clots. Same surgery Matt Harvey had.

Dosen't sound like we'll see him again this year unless they win a round or two in the playoffs, but if it corrects it for good that's more important. The Rangers are going to be in a tight spot as to whether to deal people or deal for someone if they're on the bubble.

Sucks but at least there is a plan.

Rangers forward Chris Kreider, sidelined by a blood clot in his right arm, will undergo surgery to have his rib resected, general manager Jeff Gorton announced on Friday.

He will remain out indefinitely. A rib resection is a procedure to treat thoracic outlet syndrome. Typically, it involves removing part of the rib closest to the collarbone.

Other NHL players, including Tampa’s Steven Stamkos, have had rib surgery to address a similar issue and returned in roughly two
    months.

Kreider, 26, has appeared in 37 games and is tied for third on the team with 11 goals. He last played on Dec. 27 in a win over the Capitals.

Best bet is out 2 months but more important that he's completely healed before coming back. Gorton should be in full trading assets for picks and young prospects mode

"Positive" news IMO. Back early March +/-, before the end of the season (2 or 3 weeks prior), and well before the playoffs. Also, as was said above, there is a plan and approach to correct the issue. Good for the team and very good for Kreider given the circumstances.
