Since we are talking about sports that make us mad, this makes me pretty mad:When football players or basketball players in school are talking about how much their coach made them run, and a track kid (that is in running events) is like, "well our coach made us run six miles and blah blah blah." You faggot, you signed up for running, that is what you are supposed to do. What did you think you were going to do at practice? Shoot baskets? Basketball and Football players didn't sign up for a sport that only involves running, there are billions of other things we can do in practice, people in running events can really only, well, run. So- get over it. And quit complaining to us basketball and football players, like you did something more or something.

What if you only want to do sprints, but your coach makes your run with the distance runners? Thats how it is for me, I was a sprinter, but I tried out the 800 once and now I have to run like 6 miles a day.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (one. @ Mar 31 2007, 02:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>What if you only want to do sprints, but your coach makes your run with the distance runners? But if I was complaining that coach made us do line-sprints all day and then we had to run around the school forever and you come in with, "We had to run more than that." I am going to smack you in the face. Unless your practice is 10mins long, what else are you going to do besides run? That is what gets on my nerves. You signed up to run, complaining to basketball players and football players that you run more than them is like a football player complaining to you guys that they have to do more tackling drills than you, it is what you signed up for, of course you are going to more of it, so shut up. Now, I don't care if Track people complain to each other about having to run more than usual, but complain bragging (complain bragging is the word used to describe people that say things like, "Oh Yeah, well we had to run more than that.") to other sport players is annoying and drives me crazy.
Ok, I use to be one of these kids and this is my defense, we get tired of little pussy baseball or softball players crying oh we ran a mile or half a mile or whatever and this hurts and blah blah blah, I just take it as I just got through done 12 miles or whatever and you don't see my crying. Or I'll complain when I run a 2 mile, 1 mile, and 1 mile relay one day and then have to run 6 or so miles the next day in practice, I usually like to take the next day easy.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DTP @ Mar 31 2007, 04:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Ok, I use to be one of these kids and this is my defense, we get tired of little pussy baseball or softball players crying oh we ran a mile or half a mile or whatever and this hurts and blah blah blah, I just take it as I just got through done 12 miles or whatever and you don't see my crying. I am fine if you complain about that with your other track guys, but us football and basketball players don't care or don't understand. We don't have to run like that on a regular basis because that isn't what our sport demands us to be best at, we don't have to thrive in that area to play our sport, you do. So if you complain our response is, "Then why the heck did you sign up for track?"
the track players at my school don't do that, you know why?because the basketball team at my school does more sprinting than the track team.As I've mentioned before, Coach Carter actually did base a lot of his style off of my school's coach Doug Kagawa who is retiring this year.We only play basketball maybe one out of every three practices, the rest of the time we just sprint for the entire three hour practices. Our coach says to the people who don't make the team "If you didn't make the team, join the track team, because that's a bit less running but it'll get you enough in shape for next year"Our team sucks, which goes with out saying........Our free throw percentage is like 35% and our fg% is comparable.
I have a friend that does athletics/track and he used to be annoyin when he talkd about his practise coz it was the first sport he's ever taken up and was unfit. Now I've gotten used to it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pacers fan forever @ Mar 31 2007, 12:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>lol. yup.</div>Honestly I think you only read the first sentence
I play football and we don't run that much actually. We get better by getting smarter, coachin our position, and staying focused. Our track team doesn't complain either, the golf team does for going on the treadmills, LOL
What's the big deal, people complain about stuff they know they have to do all the time. People go into jobs where they hate doing paperwork but know they have to do a lot of it....people bi*ch about running when in sports they know they have to run in....it's human nature for people to bi*ch about things they don't like...
I hate when any athlete complains about running. None of them should be complaining about tough practices. It's like teenagers now have no work ethic at all, they just expect to play the games.

Play football?3- I don't care about them complaining to each other or even complaining that practice was tough, I do care when they complain brag (explained what I ment about that earlier) to other athletes in other sports that they run more and they have the harder running practices and everything like that. I mean, when I say something like, "Man we had to run around the school property twice at a jogging pace." They come back with, "That's not hard, we run so much more in track. Yesterday we ran 8 miles and had to sprint for 20 minutes, now that is hard." That gets on my nerves. It is track, what did you think you were going to do? If I wanted those kind of practices, I would have signed up for track, but I didn't, and that is why I am complaining. Jeez.

If you bench 160 and someone was saying OMG I just benched 100 that was so hard, I'm so buff, then you may say something too.

I ran 2 miles a day after practice and never complained about it and now I run about 7 miles a day after work. I really enjoy running a lot by myself or something because I was always used to having to wear really heavy pads and sprint your heart out for like 3 hours...which is mainly what we did...so I feel like the lightest and fastest person in the world when I run without pads
