This could be fun in a "JR Rider takes a bunch of fools down low in the paint" 1998 sort of way. We'd need a really good 3&D guy at SF, and CJ could provide that to us.

Who is this mysterious 2-way SF you propose, and can we slide ET to other team instead to SG? :)

It also begs the question: How could it be an "equivalent 2-way SF" when CJ is strictly a 1-way SG? The other question that comes to mind is who in the hell would give up a high quality 2-way SF for a 2guard who doesn't defend?

Stotts is a dumbass. Anyone who watches the game knows that Aminu guards the 4 and plays the 3 on offense. The floor spacing doesn't increase because Aminu is at the 4, rather, it shrinks because Evan Turner is out there standing next to him.

No one. There is not a surplus of them out there. So keep CJ and hope we get lucky in the draft. I would rather have a very good one way player then an average 2 way SG. And I am not sure a 3 & D type player is enough at SF. We need three guys on the floor who can create their own shot.

I will take your word about it being a Taylor Swift song, and suggest that we go for Adam and the Ants instead. This thread should be renamed "Stand and Deliver", every game thread should be renamed "Baby let me scream at you" and for the Around the NBA threads I suggest "Place in the country".

This is a fun game. Maybe a little later I will try to do it with U2 songs. This thread tho will certainly be "I still haven't found what I'm looking for"

This is the dumbest thread I've seen since coming here. We need to work to get better, not start from scratch. The blazers are not that bad.

If our GM is creative and cunning enough, we can improve without trading Dame or CJ. Trading Dame is a retarded idea. Not many teams need PGs so we wouldn't be able to get enough, let alone the hit the basketball community and culture in Portland would take a hit.

I still think trading CJ is a viable option if we get a good return back. But yeah, the odds of that happening aren't great. Neither are "getting creative." We'll see how the next few weeks pans out.

It's not about how bad they are, it's their payroll combined with too many guys not playing up to their deals that is the problem. Also, I don't know who this we is, but they (Olshey and Allen) need to work to get better players for sure, but how they get there from here is going to be very tricky. Nobody is going to be beating down the door to get guys outside of Lillard or McCollum. In some cases, it's going to require sweetening the pot with picks to get rid of guys like Turner, MyLe, and Harkless and a ton of guys like Vonleh, Swanigan, Conaughton, Layman, just don't have much value. Right now the only guy who would be easy to trade because of his small salary and production is Napier, but because he's an expiring contract, the Blazers wouldn't have a ton of leverage in a deal.

In short, it's easy to say "We need to work to get better," but aside from maybe Collins, who do you see having the potential on this roster to make a huge, or even modest leap in production in the next few years? Nurkic? Most of these guys are at their peak, or will never have a peak.

When did he have cred? :dunno:

I'd wager to say 290 of his 301 rookie posts are complete garbage.

Also, the point of a forum is for fans to freely post their thoughts. I respect opposing opinions even if I strongly disagree with them. If you want to turn this into a place to insult each other I’ll leave this forum. The rest of you can all hold hands and agree on everything.
