I think there is a substantial chance the Rangers pick becomes a top 10, then acquire another one in the teens plus have 3-4 second rounders.

first 1st rounder Bode Wilde 6'2, 194 right shot Defnese

    Scouting Report

A defender with arguably the highest upside of any of his talented NTDP teammates, this Harvard-bound blueliner is a phenomenal skater with a blistering shot. Big, thick defensemen that look graceful while carrying the puck simply don’t grow on trees, and you’d probably hear more about him if his draft year wasn’t loaded with cornerstone-type defenders. Wilde is one confident teenager, maybe sometimes to a fault, as doing “too much” with the puck is something he’ll have to limit. Especially considering how talented the NTDP forwards are. Still, he is perfectly capable of playing a variety of roles with aplomb — power play quarterback, crease-clearer on the penalty kill, and even neutralizing top opponents. Wilde loves to hammer the disc thanks to a heavy shot, and he has the ability to either create his own shot from up high or finish in a speed rush to the net. Once he crosses center, he is as close to the complete package as they come, and his size and right-handed shot make him an extremely tantalizing prospect with star potential. Wilde’s risk taking can put his mates in jeopardy, so you’d like to see him go through stretches when he puts a premium on sound positioning, and is willing to refrain from deep attacks every single shift.

    Lefty shot, 6'2, 210 Defense

McIsaac is a smooth-skating, two-way defenseman…he focuses on keeping his end clean first and foremost before adding to the offensive play…effortless skater with agility and balance…a long flawless stride…his cuts and transitions are fluid…incredible hockey sense…thinks the game at a very high level, and makes great decisions with the puck on his stick…keeps things simple, but can add a bit of flair where he sees an opportunity…pin-point breakout passes he delivers crisply and accurately…he really controls the puck well at high speeds and will skate it end-to-end when he gets room to rush the puck up ice…possesses a real cannon of a shot from the point…plays opposing puck carriers aggressively and stands up attackers at the blue line…keeps a close gap pushing opponents to the outside and applies good pressure to force mistakes…plays with a mean streak in the corners and around his own crease…doesn’t shy away from working hard…confident and mature…he’s a calming, safe, reliable two-way defender that has top-pairing NHL upside. (July 2017)

Then I think they have to start looking at talented, righty handed forwards in the second and actually draft them for once.

If they even end up with say pick #15 and then trade Nash to a team like StL for their 1st, maybe package both to move up to the top 10.

Honestly, I wouldn't be trading up. I would be looking to acquire as many first and second round picks as possible. Draft heavy on defense, right handed forwards.

Trade McDonagh for a top 10 pick, a talented NHL ready defenseman prospect and perhaps a solid role playing prospect with an edge. Trade Nash for hopefully a late first to a legit contender. If not, 2 number 2's would be OK. Grabner probably could bring back a late first but I just like the guy and don't want to do it even if they re-sign him. Smith, he can go big time. I'd take a 3rd rounder back for him at this point. Vesey, if I was offered a 2nd an an NHL ready, 3rd pair defenseman prospect with some toughness, I make the deal.

Of course, I almost guarantee that our dumbass GM will add at the deadline, pissing away more draft picks.

you do realize that the draft is REVERSE order of the standings. that being said why would a team who is 20-31 worse in the league trade for MCD? who will probably walk from that "bad" team after next season? keep in mind that teams who hold a top 10 pick will have a chance at winning the lotto and drafting dahlin. thats in that position don't trade picks for players in their prime and a year away from UFA just makes no sense lol keep living in fantasy land.

thats a hefty price too for nash who is a ghost during playoff time. maybe a gm bites but i doubt you get 2 second rounders let alone a first for him.

you realize that a first is traded about 1x a year at the deadline for the last like 5 years right. so you in your three trade ideas are expecting 3 1st to come back? one being a top 10?!??!?!!? lol

If Nash continues to score i think a team like StL or Nashville would give up a late 1st for him. He's still a very solid player and can put a team like that right in the SC conversation. I think Grabner could definately bring back a 2nd. Vesey I'd keep either way as he still is young and will be ok. Zucc is a WC as far as dealing with a year left, as he would have a fair amount of interest. Holden maybe gets a 4th or 5th. Smith is just...ugg i don't even want to talk about him.

You would think dumbass Cup would realize the entire board probably has him on ignore right now and doesn't read any of his crap. Yet, the stupid bastard keeps trying.
