Davis for Crowder makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I don't think Utah would trade Favors for Crowder, they already have a logjam of wings. Davis for Crowder is ideal.

I just think the market for a 3 is as high as it’s been in a really long time. If you add a first coming in for Chicago they would probably bite but actually might not want all those extra players unless it’s to match salaries.

    My realistic prediction:
    CLE Gets:
    Napier, Davis, Layman
POR Gets: Crowder, 2018 CLE 1st

DAL Gets: Meyers Leonard, Maurice Harkless, Noah Vonleh
POR Gets: Devin Harris, Josh McRoberts, Salah Mejri

    That's it.

Sign Baldwin and Wilcox to NBA contracts.
    14 player roster.
    Lillard / Harris / Baldwin
    McCollum / Connaughton / Wilcox
    Crowder / Turner /
    Aminu / Collins / Swanigan
    Nurkic / Mejri / McRoberts

Shed apx. $14M in payroll this year.
Shed apx. $14M in payroll next year (not counting the money we would give Vonleh and Napier)
We add a cheap SF for the future
We add a late 1st from CLE

We'd actually be right at the cap space line next year. Shed Turner's contract with a 1st attached and we'd have almost $20M in cap space.

That wasn't what I proposed. UTA gets Mirotic and Napier.

It's to match salaries and a couple of them are expiring. They would hold their Bird rights. So, they could audition them for half a season and then either resign them or let them walk.

Crowder sucks outside of the Brad Stevens system. Says wonders about how useless he is in CLE even with Lebron there.

Let ET be a lesson-- we don't need more mediocrity. If we're gonna go after wings, for me it's Hood/Oubre or bust.

Not really, they need Players who can guard Curry or Thompson. Who should guarded by Davis? Zaza?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Valuing Crowder as a three-and-D wing is like valuing Harkless as a three-and-D wing. He's really only been good in that role last year. This year, his three point percentages have tanked back to previous (poor) levels and even his defense has been nothing special. I wouldn't consider Crowder much a trade chip for Cleveland or a great target for Portland.

trading Davis would be a HUGE mistake. If management wants to build a winning team without paying for it...... then they are living in a dream world. Davis makes stuff happen on the floor. He is ONE OF the most valuable pieces coming off the bench that the Blazers have IMO.
Vonleh needs to play more. He is good but too far down the list with Davis and Collins and Aminu ahead of him to get in the game much. Sadly, he is probably tradable.
Turner is growing on me cuz when he does that turnaround jumper.... it mostly goes in. Still, he is just on the edge of the trade offerings in my book too.
    Trade Leonard.
    Trade Mo.
Keep the rest as it looks to me like they are just starting to find the chemistry and having some fun ballin.

And for heavens sake DON"T TAKE ON SOME GUY WITH A HUGE CONTRACT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!

The guy we vastly overpay and who can only shoot contested turnaround fadeaway midrange shots is growing on you ?

Yeah I am not too keen on Crowder anymore either. He wasn't good before Boston and he hasn't been good since Boston either. Stevens got the best out of him but I am not sure Stotts would.

I would much prefer getting Cleveland's pick and an expiring contract to match salaries (we can't get cap relief from Cavs). Though I reckon that in the end Cavs will get someone else, most likely strike a deal with the Clippers to take DeAndre, or get Favors from Jazz.

I wonder what happens with Charlotte players. Nobody will offer anything for Howard and Batum for sure, those are very bad deals. Maybe a team like Milwaukee will offer their bad deals to take Howard but even then I doubt it.

Kemba will be interesting for many teams. I think the best fit for him would be Pelicans who would be able to play their three guard, two big men lineup more efficiently with Kemba, Jrue and Moore but they don't really have that great assets to send back and would need to send back Solomon Hill to match salaries which is terrible enough for Charlotte. New York sound like a good destination, could send back Thomas and Ntilikina which would be good deal for Hornets who would get younger with Frank and could reboot. Utah would be a good destination but they won't send their pick for sure, it can be top 10 at this rate.

This is my ‘fuck it’ trade scenario. It’s improbable but I could make an argument why it helps all teams involved.

CJ +2019 1st rd pick for Middleton and Parker.
Napier, Harkless, Swanigan and 2018 2nd rd pick for Rubio and Hood.

    Dame/Rubio/1st rd pick
    Middleton/Turner
    Hood/Aminu
    Parker/Collins/Vonleh (?)
    Nurkic/Davis

Tons of rotation possibilities, switchable 2-4, some added youth and a much more balanced roster. Again, improbable but a fun idea.

It doesn't help Bucks much IMO. Middleton is a better fit for them than CJ and a more versatile player (not to mention a good defender) and 2019 first won't get them a better player than Jabari.

Utah will want to get rid of wings, not add them although letting Rubio leave might be an incentive, he has not been good.

Milwaukee needs scoring (although I think it’s mostly Kidd that is the problem) and I think CJ is the better pure scorer. I don’t think Milwaukee has any desire to sign Jabari to a contract this summer so getting a 1st for him is a good way to get out of that. We could also add Aminu in this deal.

Utah needs a PG and if they strike out on Kemba then Napier might be their best option, he’s every bit as good as Hood IMO. This package for them is essentially a way to get rid of some guys they dont want to pay with no real future on the roster while adding some building blocks for a rebuild. Napier, Mitchell, Gobert and some picks is a good starting point for them. Taking back Rubio is a big favor, he’s been really bad, and Hood is a RFA who has been up and down and seemingly unhappy.
