You don't need either to handle the ball. Usually you'd have two ball handlers on the court with them (and Harris isn't a bad ball handler like Aminu, and could be the 3rd ball handler). They're not at all redundant. Harris has more perimeter skills than Aminu or Harkless, and he played Aminu at the 3 and has played Harkless at the 3. Just because he likes Aminu at the 4 doesn't mean he wouldn't play Harris and Aminu together.
Layman and our 2019 2nd for Skal. They cut Layman, get something for Skal. We then trade Vonleh at the deadline and Skal becomes our new, exciting young PF, as well as cut our losses with Layman.
Davis and Thompson would never play together, and CLE needs defense, so why wouldn't they want Davis? That would give them a good defensive/offensive rebounding C for 48 minutes of the game. I think they'd greatly value Aminu (more than Ed). Like, value him more than any of us can imagine. Why? - They need defense - They need a backup PF (they've been using Crowder (6'6) at PF) - They would value his 40% 3pt shooting - The switchability between the 4 man group Crowder/Lebron/Aminu/Green is top notch. Aminu is the only PF of the group, though. Guarding GSW requires switching screens and you could have 3 of those 4 on the court at the same time. Thompson is also a solid perimeter defender so having him at C would bring even more switchability.
I haven't read thru all of the rumored/proposed trades on here, so I apologize if this or something similar has already been proposed. Blazers trade: - Leonard - Davis - 1st rnd pick Bulls trade: - Mirotic http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yd9rfyv7 Another version of this is to have the Blazers trading Leonard, Napier, Vonleh and a 1st rnd pick. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yaquezgl Both of these trades save the Blazers just enough to get them under the lux tax. It hurts to lose that 1st round pick, but the Blazers are the second youngest team in the NBA. They need to start consolidating talent and acquiring players in their prime. Mirotic is only 26 years old. His contract has a team option for next year. He gives the Blazers that 3rd reliable scoring option they desperately need. Get 'er done Olshey!
Don't trade Davis and a first in that package. Id try this: BOS or CLE Gets: Davis, 2019 MIN/LAL 2nd, 2021 POR 2nd CHI Gets: Leonard, 2018 BOS or CLE 1st POR Gets: Mirotic
Davis/Turner/1st Rounder For Love Napier/Vonleh/Leonard/2nd Rounder For Hood/Rubio Both Trades Work(for us) Nurk/Collins Love/Amino Hood/Hark CJ/Pat Dame/Rubio If it doesn’t work out send CJ and Love to SAS for Leonard and filler in offseason.
You've seen the light. Guess youre delusional now too. I tink they're only trying to trade one of them.
I agree but my trade was turner/Davis/and a 1st I think it depends on how much Love has fallen out of favor. No one thought Boogie would net basically nothing for the kings last year either. Maybe turner and Davis could help with that pathetic CLE defense...i know IT and crowder like playing with turner.
Well he did mention they could just cut Layman. But we could also theoretically trade for either one of them without sending any player back, no? We still have a TPE. don’t think we’d use it on guys on their rookie contracts, just throwing it out there.
Cavs are desperate. but I think they're only willing to part with Love if they get back a guy that starts for them and is a huge contributor. CJ might get it done, but I'm not seeing it makes us enough better, if at all.
Boogie got the 10th pick, Hield, and Tyreke Evans.m, which is much better than Davis, Turner, and the 20th pick. That's not happening.
Skal would be nice because he’s got a nice rounded offensive game and also fits Terry’s offense. I like Malachi because he’s a tough defender with great length (7’ wingspan) who’s a much better shooter than his percentages indicate and can score off the dribble. He just needs a chance with a real team. He’d be a cheap gamble to fill our biggest hole.
Both of those guys are posters that Stotts would mold well. Both of them have more natural skill and drive than Harkless.
Lowe and Windhorst talked about possibility of a CJ for Love + picks deal but said Blazers wouldn't be interested. Lowe suggested a Frye for Harkless with some 2nd round picks exchange but Windhorst says Frye will end up in Sac, for sure. Windy: "Dame started to rattle the cage, but how shaky is it?" Lowe: "they have consistently said they won't trade the two guards. But they need to cut money for sure." Windy: "What if Cavs would take on Meyers Leonard and threw in picks for CJ?" Lowe: "It would be interesting for sure." http://www.espn.com/espnradio/play?id=22202591
