Yeah idk. Aminu holds value to them and moving down 5 to 10 spots in the draft to flip Love for DJ and Aminu might be worth it. They badly need defense. The alternative would be (Using ??? for unknown team) CLE Gets: Jordan, Aminu ??? Gets: Love LAC Gets: '18 CLE 1st, '18 & '20 POR 1sts, ??? 1st, Filler from ??? (More Picks or young players? POR Gets: Griffin One team that could want Love is Indiana. So maybe something like this? With LAC getting the following 1st Round Picks: 2018+2020 POR (Maybe 2022?) 2018 IND (maybe 2020 IND?) 2018 CLE Maybe CLE is willing to swap the BKN pick to LAC for one of those lesser picks if they get Lou Williams as well? They'd send out JR Smith most likely. Either way: Pacers would get a star to help them compete in playoffs. Thad Young is a great piece off the bench. Clippers start their rebuild off with TJ Leaf and a ton of 1sts (5-7 if they trade Lou somewhere else, or 4-6 with one being top 10 [BKN]) Cavaliers get better, especially on defense by swapping Love for DJ and Aminu, all for the price of a late 1st. Possibly get even better by swapping JR for Lou Williams. Blazers get that 3rd star, and gets much better by swapping out two guys who don't play as well as Aminu for Griffin. They give up a couple 1sts but they finally have a legitimate core of Dame+Griffin+CJ+Nurk+Collins (and maybe Rodney Hood if we traded Vonleh and Napier for him).
Davis/Turner/1st Rounder For Love Napier/Vonleh/Leonard/2nd Rounder For Hood/Rubio Both Trades Work(for us) Nurk/Collins Love/Amino Hood/Hark CJ/Pat Dame/Rubio Gets IT/Crowder/Turner back together and CLE needs defense. Trade CJ and Love to SAS for Leonard and filler in offseason if it doesn’t work out.
The Cavs want to contend for the championship. They don't want to waste the last year or few years of LeBron's ability. I don't see them trading one of their big 3 for lesser pieces or draft picks. They're going to want at least an all-star or near all-star caliber player in return for Love.
I know you like to be so even-keeled that you lean the opposite way when it comes to our players but actually, you aren't getting a player of CJ's caliber without giving up Love and a pick or other players. Same for Jordan.
Love would not be an All-Star in the West. Paul George didn't even make it. CJ would be an All-Star in the East. All it proves is the east is weak. So if you (the other team) is holding out for an All-Star because they think they have one then good luck to them because that package isn't coming. There are many players who are all-star caliber in one conference or the other that won't ever make it.
Those saying CJ are complete homers. Other GMs see the same issues we see game-in and game-out from CJ. He's a great 1 on 1 (or 1 on 3) player, but he struggles finding the open man & is a sieve on defense. Love is not without his warts too, but I think he does more to actually help a TEAM win long term.
Call me a complete homer, if you will, but Love has somehow alienated teammates, which lowers his trade value. CJ's shown himself to be an elite shooter at multiple levels, and can create his own shot, which gives him value offensively over Love. Love is really no better on defense than CJ. Plus CJ's younger and locked up for longer. All of these are aspects that elevate CJ's value over Love's, I believe.
Can someone give me the readers digest version of why exactly Kevin Love is so unloved by Lebron? I'd appreciate it.
Serious question to you and others: Does Cleveland re-sign Isaiah Thomas (turns 29 next month) if LBJ leaves? You see a championship contender. I see Humpty Dumpty who is falling and about to hit the ground. Cavs rotation players 25 and under: ZERO. Cavs building block pieces: Zizic? Brooklyn draft pick (ouch!) If they can trade Love for a younger player who can contribute at all, I think they jump on it, especially if they can get a younger player and a draft pick.
Please help that miserable lonely white man out, get him out of Cleveland before he gets smacked by that manlet IT. It's heartbreaking they can't handle his white shyness, his whatever man I'm going home bud we can have a chat in the morning or whatever goofy shit he did vs Oklahoma. Save this man.
