Man this post reminds me of the mass amount of posters arguing with me before the season started. About if Davis was a 4 or a 5...
I said he has a 5's game in a 4's body, as that was the scouting report for the draft and nothing had changed.
    I was right about that.
I'd say 5-1 odds that I'm right about Collins being a natural 5 as well, with the ability to slide to the 4.
He's closer to Camby/Birdman, than he is Green/prime ibaka.

Neither Camby nor Birdman could shoot outside of 15 feet (birdman like 5)

Collins is much more Dirkish on offense than a Camby.

I'm telling you--Raef Lafrentz. Give him a couple years to bulk up, and that's what you'll see from Collins. And yes, he'll be able to play center, and do it well.

Dirk is a HOFer with the meanest fadeaway known to man, Collins' offensive game doesn't even deserve to be in the same breath as Dirk.

Cleveland would want an immediate impact player for this playoff push.

CLE doesn't want anything to do with a Collins for Love swap. They are in win now (or win yesterday, given the age of their roster) mode. They are trying desperately to win now to either hope another trip to the finals will convince LeBron not to leave, or possibly even catch lightning in a bottle and beat GSW again and win it all.

We all LOVE Collins potential, but he's years away from being a major contributor on a team with championship aspirations. If they move Love, it will have to be for a proven performer, not a skinny 20-year old rookie with potential. They'd need to replace Love's 19 ppg and 9.5 rpg, and ideally add some rim protection in the process. Collins can't come close to that.

They may be interested in Nurk, however. C.J. + Nurk puts them in position to upset GSW in the finals, but it's way too much for POR to give up to land Kevin Love - even if they included the BRK pick. That would replace Love's scoring, his rebounding and give them a defensive presence in the middle. Too bad they don't have anyone else besides LeBron we would want.

The only reasons Love is available are:

    His teammates are dicks
He's their only valuable trading piece

I've said multiple times over the past couple of months he can shoot. My apologies for missing it once...
Collins can shoot, but he's a defensive player first. He has those instincts which made Birdman & Camby NBA players.(which is what I was referring to)
I've yet to see Collins take someone one on one in an iso situation from 25ft like Dirk could as a rookie.
However he most certainly doesn't look like young dirk on offense. Not even close to young dirkish.

Still none of this changes the fact that he's a natural 5, who can slide over to the 4.
Until he shows he can do more than just spot up, and drive a close out he will continue to be a natural 5.

Sigh... I said more Dirk than Camby. Make sense when you talk.

He looks like 2016 Myles Turner with less muscle to me.

Rookie Dirk shot 41% from field and 21% from three. Collins is better.

I actually think Love would be amazing on our team.... but the trick is getting him without giving up too much.

IMO Collins doesn’t have the dirk or markkanen shot, I don’t see him being a great 3 point shooter over his career, a capable one but not someone teams are fearful of.

    Man, talk about wayback machine.

His biggest contribution as a Blazer was the useless RLEC acronym.

    ugh.

This is who we hope Zach aspires to? Hope we can do better than that.

Collins/Turner/and 2 first rounders would get it done. It’s a lot but sounds like we are in win now mode for the remainder of Dame’s contract. Not a lot of time to develop rookies and free agents won’t come here so that leaves trades, might as well go all in, if it doesn’t work then we can do a real rebuild where we get 4 years of top 5 picks:)

The second pick is for taking turner in the trade.
