Even I was fine with it. I was pissed at the Swanigan pick. And I feel like in the long run it'll be the correct reaction.
Some of us wanted him during the tourney. RipCityBoy and RipCityDSCPL said it in the draft thread...h/t to MM for not being sold on Swanigan being able to cut it.
I not only wanted Bell at 26 but Dillon Brooks too. Brooks would be the best SF on our team right now and he was a second round pick!(45th by Houston!) I would agree to a trade bringing us Tyreke on his expiring and brooks....maybe even Marc Gasol. What do they want? Looking at their roster..... Everything. Ducks and Bulldogs are both really good programs with Great coaching.
By that I was alluding to the same thing the others said. He's pimped every Gonzaga player since Adam Morrison. It was an epic debate back then, so any time he brings up a Zag, he gets it thrown in his face. I can't speak for anyone else, for me it's just in fun.
Who would you rather have, Olynyk or C.J.? Because that's what he was advocating - taking Olynyk with our 10th pick. We didn't even have a first round pick the year Sabonis Jr. was drafted. So, it's a moot point. And then there was the whole Draft the Stache nonsense and the bitterness that we took Aldridge and Roy when we could have had Adam Morrison. BNM
Adam Morrison was a generational shooter and ahead of his time. He should have been Steph Curry before Steph Curry, but teams didn't know how to use him. He was miscast as the new Larry Bird. Sad. What's he up to these days? We need a small forward. Or a small ball center.
Olynyk and Sabonis are both quality players who I'd love to have on my team. Rui Hachimura is the next in that line.
Lol. If C.J. was taken Olynyk would've been a decent choice. He was correct about Sabonis. He wanted Adam Morrison, so what? Hindsight is 20/20.
