QUOTE (GArenas @ Apr 3 2007, 10:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Zards got me into it.
Tru dat. My cousin got me into it when I was seven years old. He lived in Boston and he visited us in DC occassionally. His favorite team was the Celtics and the same with me. After a while, my grandpa started watching the Wizards (because of Michael Jordan's comeback), and I already knew off the top of my head that MJ was the greatest basketball player ever. Then I started watching the Wizards more and more, and I just appreciated the game of basketball 10x more. I still like the Celtics as a team, but the Wizards will always be my #1 team.
I got into it for a lot of reasons...SpacejamMy friend got a hoop on his house and I was pretty good for my first time...I was like 5 at the timeI sucked at soccerI like to be different
When I was two years old my parents left me at the YMCA to play basketball on the little hoops. I said to them "****! NEVER DO THIS TO ME AGAIN". At eight I started playing again and loved it. Though I don't play much as of the last few months or so, I still love watching the game
black kids kept kickin my ass.... so I decided to learn... now im better then themstarted really learnin at age 14
I first got into it in elementary school. I think about like 4th grade, around there somewhere and I've always enjoyed playing because it always keeps my mind off of whatever's bothering me in my life at that particular moment.
I got into it real early in my life coz my whole family was really into it. Then I moved to NZ and forgot all about it until one day wen the And1 Mixtape Vol 4 came out like 5 or so years ago and I got a free copy.. From there I started really gettin into it again....played in primary....too useless to try out for HS team last year...now im on the team.
Once I saw space jam, I just wanted to dribble like that red monstar It's all history from there, I was the first freestyler of my generation in my school. I'm not so much now though.

For my 2nd birthday my dad got me one of those little fisher price basketball hoops and from then on I was pretty much obsessed.
I started playing Basketball when I was in kindergarten. Most of my relatives are into basketball/soccer. And then my dad got me a Net, and I kept playing on it, and then it got stolen at night, and then I got another net cause it was still udner warranty and then it got stolen again. I GOT 2 NETS STOLEN in A week. And then I just started to play with my neighbours net, and then my cousin introduced me to the NBA.
On the "me-playing-basketball" side, I got interested in the sport back in elementary school. I used to play basketball a lot.. I wasn't really good at first, but I came around to get better. On the "me-watching-basketball games" side, those darn And 1 mixtapes got me interested in the sport back in middle school. At first, I was only interested in streetball and I used to say that NBA basketball is p*ssy because of all the fouls, bullsh*t calls, and etc. Eventually, my brother got me hooked on Vince Carter's highlights, such as his dunk over Frederick Weis! Incredible! Finally, I got around to liking other players, such as Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, LeBron James, etc. Then I bought NBA Live 05 and got really interested in basketball games. Now it's history...
Recess helped me a lot, too. I'm talking about "Recess" the cartoon.. With that black kid being all athletic and sh*t. Pretty impressive stuff there.

Space Jam. Christmas 2000 I was watching Space Jam with my fam. I saw Bugs Bunny and I remember always watching Looney TUnes every morning and Bugs beating the sh*t out of Elmer Fudd and he was my hero. THen I saw him with this bald guy I had no clue of so I saw Bugs dribbling around then I picked up like a ball and statred driblling. Ever since I have been playing bball.
I was a big MJ fan when I was little, but I kinda stopped liking him so much when I found out Chicago wasn't in Canada.
