I'm just curious what they're trying to get.

    Picks?

    Young players?

    D. He's overrated, declining defense
    E. His game built entirely off of already fleeting athleticism.

If Neil trades for Jordan I won’t watch another game until he’s fired. I still have some hope he’s not that stupid.

IMO, if he trades for Jordan it will be more about salary cap than roster building.

Ed Davis = Deandre on a cheaper contract.

    How though?

And you can’t say by dumping contracts because the clippers are trying to clear space, either for this summer or next. Moe, Meyers, and Evan are all under contract past the next two summers. They’d have zero interest, even if we attached a pick.

What? Deandre's contract is like 22 million...trading for him would likely add to the salary

    Let’s see

    Jordan’s 30-34 seasons at $25m

    Or

Nurkic’ 23-27 seasons at maybe $20m

    Wow real tough choice there.

Probably true, but that has to be the pitch. Maybe a third team has to get involved.

Yeah, I heard that NY is trying to package Noah and his contract with their likely lottery pick. I immediately thought why isn't Portland getting in on that? It definitely lengthens our contract commitments while continuing to toe the luxury cap line, but I don't see a better or quicker way of obtaining lottery picks. The team isn't going to purposely tank. Arguably, our three most talented players, were our most recent lottery selections, so it seems reasonable giving Olshey more lottery picks is our best shot at improving. This kind of deal is the closest thing to buying picks. Using our best asset, Allen's money, to improve. As it stands, we haven't been using our best asset wisely or to it's best potential for awhile, and the results speak for itself.
