He said he was going to kill himself, had a Mac 10 pistol, he was walking towards them, he ignored repeated commands to drop the weapon.

Obvious he wanted suicide by cop, and had they waited he would have shot them or other innocent people driving by to make the police shoot him.

The other 2 shootings mentioned were an active domestic abuser armed with 2 pistols (later found to be pellet guns, which can still be lethal), and a fleeing bank robber who tried to take students at a school hostage.

These are very good examples of police saving lives by lethal force.

Why let a good opportunity for some kill practice go to waste? You know the guy was looking for suicide. He was successful.

In a situation like this sometimes you have to kill the perpetrator in order to free the hostage. Shame that in this case the hostage did not survive.

The cops prevented a suicide and yet, no credit for a job well done.

Ease up, homes. read again, the guy was shot three times, twelve shoots at the guy.

Suicide by cop is not that uncommon.

His other shootings that he was involved in were righteous.

Just an aside, in a high stress situation it is normal for there be a lot of shots fired and not many hits. Common belief is to shoot till the guy goes down.
