There are many examples I can get into as well as psychology... But after typing for about 5 minutes it became tl;dr Therefore I'll just say this small bit. The more public you attempt to make the 'execution of pedos or people who hurt children'. The more these people will try to hide. It doesn't stop people from hurting children. If it did with the things that have happened in the past. No children would ever be in danger from anyone.
I stopped reading after I read this. This 8 year old girl was raped, tortured, and murdered by a 61 year old white male. Not a 20 year old latino, or black guy. A old 61 year old white male. I understand you're a joke account and just trying to get a reaction. You need to do better because the only reaction I had towards you is laughter.
This is great, seeing all the conservatives reverse themselves on the issue of whether Government should give people what they deserve. Government can start with a minimum income for everyone, say, $30,000 per year. And a maximum income, say, $300,000 per year. Next, Cadillac healthcare for everyone. Formerly rich people will now have to work the same workweek as ditchdiggers. Only then will government have earned the right to kill those who deserve it. This is what you must believe, to be consistently pro-death penalty. The nanny state. Government should give people what they deserve.
Ive flip flopped on the issue over the years. Im against death penalty for the simple fact we arent God and there is a small chance we make a mistake and kill an innocent. It's too expensive to house prisoners too. So i think more prisons should take on the approach that inmates tend to their own farm land and eat what they produce. They should be provided with basic pink cloth and sew their own garments and bedding.
There is no inconsistency in believing that (a) many people deserve to die, but (b) the state cannot be trusted to identify them correctly, and (c) the risk of executing any innocent person is not worth it And that's not even to get into the dehumanizing machinery of death. Should we require somebody to be involved in killing somebody who is trapped and helpless? How should we feel about people who happily volunteer to be executioners? Sorry, that's probably a bit more thoughtful than you were wanting.
If it is constitutional to implement the death penalty then this guy deserves it. All good takes in this thread though.
Are you asking if there are people on the board who are assholes? If there are people on the board who oppose the death penalty? Or are you saying everyone who opposes the death penalty is an asshole? #1 is probably true. #2 is definitely true. #3 is your unverifiable opinion.
I'm going with option #4--OP is looking for those who populate the intersection in the venn diagram of the forum subsets you defined in #1 and #2.
The death penalty isn't fiscally sound (yes, it costs more money to execute someone than it does to house them for life) and It's privatized. Some of the many problems I have with it. Quick story: When my son was 4 he punched another kid in Head Start and took his toy train. He literally strongarm robbed the kid of his possession. Now, am I supposed to spank my child to teach him a lesson? No, I cannot hit him to teach him NOT to hit. Bottom line, capital punishment does not deter murder. But here's my question to the conservatives: If you don't believe government should have control over our lives, why do you believe they should have the ULTIMATE control over our actual life?
I'm personally ambivalent about the death penalty, but in regard to this question, the conservative position is basically that you have a natural right to personal liberty until you forfeit that right by your abuse thereof.
I understand what you're saying but spanking your kid could teach him that there's always someone bigger or with authority. Not spanking him could teach him he can get away with stuff. I think it is more about the kid than the parenting if the parents are consistent. There's no real way to know.
Without reading others opinions, reading the awful story. My opinion being I don’t believe in it. I think it’s weird when others take pleasure in killing another or having him/her be dead and take joy in it no matter what the case. Some people are just really fucked up, killing them won’t solve anything. Make them serve their time. There will be more just like them. Mental health is a serious issue and I think too many people brush the mental health aspect aside.
75K in cal according to this lady. http://www.politifact.com/californi...does-it-cost-75k-year-lock-inmate-california/ $88 per day in a Federal prison https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...etermination-of-average-cost-of-incarceration The prison guard retirement plan is probably killing California.
Well Jesus tell us to leave revenge to the lord. The Justice system assures us there is value in deterrence. Now you say there is no deterrence at all. Here is the proof^^^ I repeat, how do you know there is absolutely zero percent deterrence? I would accept, less than 100%, perhaps even less than 90%. Maybe greater than 0% perhaps more than 10%. Quit possible in between the 10% and 90% but not being an expert, I need help.
