lol. SOOO. My school is being so lame. Next year, they might eliminate Block Days, Tutorial(basically a free 30 minutes on wednesday), and shorten lunch to 30 minutes. also, it extends all classes to 60 minutes long. All students in school basically organized a walkout of class at 10 AM tomorrow... so thats during 3rd period.. theres gonna be reporters.. and what not.BLA. I hate the idea of next years schedule, but c'mon, I don't think this "walking out of class" will help much. You guys think its a good idea?
POWER TO THE PEOPLE! Yeah sure protest...nothing they can do to punish you, since everybody will do it.Your classes are 60 mins long, mine are 45...at what time do you get out of school every day?
My school classes are 55 minutes, and lunch is only 30, and it really isn't that tough. But the transition might be a little bit rough at first. Also, how many classes per day do you have?I agree with you that the demonstration won't help much, but its worth a shot. And hey, you get to miss class.
lol, my school would never do that. Too many kids who wouldn't want to jeopardize their 4.5 GPAs. Right on though, I wish I could do that. I've been fighting the school system with a plethora of petitions for years, good by all of you to do that.
Walking out of class won't do any good... but dropping out of school will show them that you mean business! :happy0144:
So what's walking out going to accomplish? They'll just replace you guys with people who want to learn.

Well, this year its pretty good, but next year I'm gonna take 3 AP/Honors classes, plus Precal and Japanese 3, which are both HARD but arent "ap"... I don't think I can do that w/o block days...
WOW. It was so fcking annoying today. In the morning, everywhere I went, people were asking each other, "are you walkin out?"it was SOOO fricking lame. and when 10 AM came, im not sure a lot of people even walked out. Maybe all the people dat just wanna cut and leave class and stuff, but I heard no1 was even doing anything. they just walkd out and sat there. Made no sense. After 3rd period was over, everyone started asking each other "DID YOU WALK OUT?"it went on the whole day, and im glad its spring break now..*BTW, here is a reason why they HAVE to change the schedule next year.-There are not enough minutes in class, right now its 55 minutes per class on a regular day-The Hayward Unified School District got fine 12 million because they didnt have enough minutes or something. But they talked them into just 1.1 million-Their teachers are on strike now-Every wednesday, we have 30 minutes after 3rd period called "Tutorial"-Tutorial is supposed to be used to go to classes that you need help in, and get help-Not a lot of people are using those minutes, and are out socializing.-They want to eliminate tutorial now, extend class time, get rid of block days, and decrease lunch time by 10 minutes. The "Walk" today was pointless as hell.
I hate walk outs and sh*t like that. The only slightly reasonable one would be the one for illegal immigrants. Most kids don't understand why the schools do something, they don't demand (or ask) for an answer, and then they go do something retarded based on knowing nothing.

GayThe school is changing the schedule for good reasons...they wanna put you in the classroom more so you get all you can..the maximum on your education and meet requirements to increase your chances to get into an excellent college..Our generation is so ignorant...do you even know why your walking out? do any of your friends know? No?EDIT: didnt mean to point fingers at you..looks like you understand the sitation and didn't take part in it

Psh...that's nothing. I have hour and a half classes, 25 minute lunch, and no free half hours either. That's pretty funny how everyone ended up chickening out on that stupid idea anyway. Did those supposed news reporters actually show up?

Most of them who walked out probably have no idea what they're even arguing against.
Pfft..tough it up. Try having 1 hour and 15 minute classes in high school. Our lunches were still like 45 mins though.

And will get the school horrible publicity. That'll do some good.
