    Oregon's legislature and Governor passed an anti 2nd amendment law some time back. Some counties passed laws countering this law a couple years back. I ask a couple of the City police Chiefs which law they would enforce? They both gave excellent answers, although the same answer;
We will support the first priority, the Constitution of the United States.

Now when I read the S2 board here, the left swingers, which is most of the board, want some sort of law banning guns or rights to guns passed.
Not sure which body of government they want to pass a law but they want it.

I see no one offered or suggested an amendment to the Constitution. Just pass a law! Well who will enforce a law that is counter to the Constitution? If we have any Police Chief that will do it, they should be fired for cause, since all take the oath which in part pledges them to uphold and defend the Constitution.

yet Trump told us all that we need to report odd behavior more. So that's the solution right? Oh wait.

By all means, we should do what they told us to do in 1791. Because nothing has changed in the world since then. I have an idea - if you want to live by rules created in 1791 (2nd Amendment), you live your entire life according to the standards in 1791. Have fun walking to work or getting the flu and enjoy your last post here on the worldwide web, because you know its 1791 and that's what matters.

It seems to me a failure on a few levels. The school failed him - maybe we need to look at how they're failing students in general.

The FBI didn't act (enough) on what was reported. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other red flags that weren't acted upon as well.

Isn't this thread about the tragic loss of life rather than politics?

Seriously, our nation is fucked if everything is politicized and nothing is done to correct the issues at the core.

Yes, multiple failures here and it isn't just about the gun(s). The only way to fix this problem is to address it multiple ways - mental health at a young age, FBI and Police reaction, schools, holding parents accountable, and how we make guns available. All of it

It is very simple. If we want to change the constitution to stop this we can. It shouldn't be hard to get the people to vote for it after all the shootings we have now.
Unfortunately in 1791 they didn't know what was coming. However, the rules are still the rules.

I've always hated how laws are passed and just stay on the books forever unless we repeal them. That's what creates crazy situations like "in Wyoming it is illegal to spit at another guy's horse while you ride side saddle" or some other such shit.

Tell that to all the gun grabbers that seem to love every tragedy as an opportunity to say turn in your guns! Told ya so!

guess you don't understand the difference between different types of guns but that's where you go with the tragedy....let's bash a few liberals over questioning access to weapons after a tragedy...that'll help! some of you soldiers of fortune should live in Somalia where 9 year olds will protect you with AK47s....

I'd just recommend that anyone who owns a bunch of these guns sell them soon. Get the money while you still can.

and yeah...guns nowadays a bit different than the 1700's. I am perfectly OK if everyone wants to carry around a musket and jam gun powder down the barrel or whatever the F they did back then. Not fire off a hundred rounds in a minute.

The guy pulled the fire alarm and set off smoke grenades.

Think about that for a bit. The guy really planned this out, and to a degree that isn't an indication of mental disability.

Think about this, too. If he really wanted to commit this kind of act, and there were no guns, he'd have found another way. Likely more deadly (like a bomb, or arson, or driving a car/truck into a crowd).

Luckily most people don't wanna do crazy shit like this. When I played BF3 (war game) we'd plan crazy shit to kill people in weird ways that the game makers had not thought of. It was fun as shit.

A guy with a good imagination could kill more people without a gun. Or even a bomb.

The guns are just too easy to get and the psychos think they're cool.

I just think we can all agree we're tired of talking about shooting that isn't field goal percent.

Well just remember, you only get one vote. Amendments to the Constitution require 3/4 or the States to ratify.
Ignoring the Constitution may bring you war.
