Why do people have children, if they do not want to care for children? Why do single moms become such when they know they must work, and they have no partner? Why do we make schools Gun free zones with no one guarding the safety of the occupants? Father guard the home (maybe momma) Security guards the Moda Center. Police guard City Hall. The Sheriff guard the County Jail. Why did we turn the Schools into Killing Zones?
How about a trade" A bump Stock bann for repeal of schools being gun free zones? So that locals can guard their school as they see fit.
Locals do guard their schools as they see fit. There is no federal law requiring schools to be gun free zones. In Portland the school security was integrated into the Portland Police. Now the high schools have armed police there. And the schools are still gun free zones.
Looks like Bandon School District is a gun free zone. Why not offer to teach a gun safety class for the entire community and then have the gun free zone eliminated?
" The Gun-Free School Zones Act (GFSZA) is an act of the U.S. Congress prohibiting any unauthorized individual from knowingly possessing a loaded or unsecured firearm at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone as defined by 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(25). The law applies to public, private, and parochial elementary schools and high schools, and to non-private property within 1000 feet of them. It provides that the states and their political subdivisions may issue licenses that exempt the licensed individuals from the prohibition. It was introduced in the U.S. Senate in October 1990 by Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware"
How would you identify immediately these 'locals guarding their school' as not a hostile shooter? Spoiler Sounds like your advocating back when you were in school there were no shootings because you had other things to do. Like... Kill black people.
Do you know of another that defines K - 12 as Gun free zones? States can issue permits but it is case by case fought in Oregon. My grandson are in this district.
The federal law allows local and state governments to issue licenses to people. Eugene has armed police officers in the schools. Not sure what you want, to allow anyone to bring a gun into a school? Armed man shot dead The fatal shooting by a Eugene police officer took place in a Churchill High School parking lot A man armed with a handgun was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon by a Eugene police school resource officer in a confrontation that ended in a Churchill High School parking lot, police said. http://projects.registerguard.com/r...rchill-officer-police-eugene-fellman.html.csp
>>> I just told you, they do not. >>> No they do not. Police respond to Threats or reports of violence. http://projects.registerguard.com/r...ool-following-threat-of-gun-violence.html.csp >>> I want the right for people to protect their children herded into these killing zones. Having police on call is totally inadequate and ignorant.
It'll end better when a parent gives the gun to their kid to 'shoot the active shooter' because their parent was shot, and is dying. Giving a gun to a distressed kid who is watching their parent die seems like a grand idea. Then the kid stands up to shoot, fires the gun only to have the saftey still on and the gun doesn't fire. Pretty prime target. Oh and then the active gunman gets another gun because he just killed the child who stood up to shoot him and took the parents gun. Or the kid stands up to shoot and shoots another kid. Yup these seem like great ideas. #givekidsgunstoprotecthemselfinschool. #whatcouldgowrong
Federal law requiring military bases and associated federal property (like MEPS and the recruiting centers) to be, though.
