The Warriors score 105.6 points per a game, their oppenents score 107.3 points per a game. But still if you think about it how are the Warriors able to run the type of offense they do without some defense? They must have some defense if they run a fast offense. The Warriors average 9.0 steals per a game and 5.8 blocks per a game. Those are some pretty good stats on the defensive side.</div>That's not true at all..on any levelWhen you average less points than you allow that means you lost quite a few games

I'll elaborate on this more, but are good running teams good defensive teams? The more you think about it, I'm convinced they have to be. You can't break without getting steals a lot or grabbing rebounds. It'd be near impossible to score 100 + points almost every night trying to run off inbound passes. Your guys' thoughts?</div> Not really....Yao Ming's been having back soreness issues, thats probably a lot more of an issue than the Warriors defense. No running team in the NBA is an above-average defense.
Guys like Yao and Shaq always struggle against fast teams. Not because of good defense but because they just can't keep up and get tired easily.
have you seen the bulls last 2 games? small lineups..... Running all game and playing D .. We finally smacked NJ playin fast ball while defending like we always do

The Mavs are fast paced an above average. MOST high paced, up and down teams are not above average, but it is not always the case. The Showtime Lakers are proof of this.

they can be, but they aren't always. The suns are a good defensive team. The Warriors are an awful one. The way you tell with pace skewed stats is looking at per possession and percentages.
I think so because alot of times running teams will play good defence, then when you miss they get the rebound and all hell breaks loose. so how can you get the rebound and start your running game if your opponent scores? but still, they always get anxious for offence sometimes they dont pay as much attention on defence.

When teams play the Suns pace, they jack up too many 3's instead of exploiting the defense. Good teams against the Suns usually have fantastic percentages because they exploit this. The bad teams, no matter how good they are offensively, tend to fall into Phoenix's trap. Same can go for slower paced teams like the Rockets who seem like better defensive teams than they are due to the snail's pace, which forces the opposite team to play whole game in halfcourt.
