To Boston for a 3rd rounder and a prospect dman. Nice start for Gorton. Getting a 3rd for Holden is sweet I think. Get a 1st for Nash and for Grabner and we're already setup great for the draft. Then we'll see on McDonagh.
Rick Carpiniello@RickCarpiniello O'Gara, by the way, is expected to join the Rangers immediately, as opposed to being assigned to Hartford. #NYR 8 replies6 retweets21 likes
I thought a 3rd or 4th. We need to remember that prices for players are crazy over the top high at the trade DL, so returns are usually inflated, that is why for one season it isn't bad we are a seller. We can recoup a lot (if not more) than what we dealt the past few years. Good year for us to stink with a few good rentals and McDonagh only 1 year left. Next year hopefully we are much better and don't need to sell off.
I wouldn't care if they dealt Grabner to Pitt if they gave up a 1st. Sounds like they're looking for at worst a 2nd and solid prospect.
Not like Holden is a young prospect at 30, think what you see is what you get. Much more upside to the bigger, younger O'Gara. Not a bad trade by Gorton, hopefully the first of more to come.
Safety in numbers with draft picks. I wouldn't mind if they ended up with three 3's, two 4's in deals of lesser players. If they hit on one of those picks with a future NHL player it's worth it.
Let's say you deal Nash for a 1st. Grabner for a 2nd. Holden for a 3rd. Maybe we get a prospect along with the 1st for Nash and maybe we get a prospect along with the 2nd for Grabner. If we have two 1st's, two 2nd's and two 3rd's in this draft that is awesome. Even if all we got was a 1st, 2nd, 3rd for Nash/Grabner/Holden it was a good trade DL for us, and I bet we get at least one decent prospect as well back for Nash and/or Grabner.
??????? Grabber to Devils for a #2 draft pick and a personnel pick. This was the best offer?????????? The only problem with this trade.........the Devils do not own a 2nd round pick!!!!!! The Draftsite mock draft board is all fucked up! Nothing is ever updated. Unreliable source.
Those everlovin’ Ottawa Senators traded Brassard (remember him?) to Pittsburgh Pens for a #1’ rookie goalie, and D Ian Cole. More and more I cannot stand the Sens.
I think the Grabner deal could be beneficial to the Rangers if they can convince the 20 year old 6'3" 225 pound Rykov to come to America. A coaching change might make his decision easier as AV would immediately work to take all physical play out of his repertoire.
