The Hornets(35-40) will definitley be missing forward Desmond Mason for tonight's game against the Suns. Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler are listed as doubtful after each getting injured in Wednesday's victory over the Sonics. The Suns(56-19) will try and rebound after a tough loss last night to the Spurs. Pheonix is still holding on to the second seed in the West with a two-game lead over San Antonio. The Hornets have gained only a little ground in their chase for the 8th spot, now down two and half games behind the Clippers. Season Series: Suns lead 2-0Key Matchup: Shawn Marion Vs David West

Suns on top 60-48 at the half. Hornets are keeping it close. They have to have more energy on offense with Paul, Chandler and Mason out. West only has 4 points

Suns lead 70-62 with 5 min. left in the third quarter. Hornets want this game badly.

At the end of the third period, the Suns lead 77-67 over the Hornets. This is it New Orleans, I'm not saying it's over if you lose, but it certainly means you can't lose after this one.

This game is over. [IMG] Suns up 93-76 with only 5:56 left in the game. The Hornets weren't expected to win this one, but an upset would have been nice. Byron Scott will have to get his young guys such as Hilton Armstrong, Cedric Simmons and Marcus Vinicius some minutes. With four starters out, it's important that the younger guys get playing time to improve their game.

Hornets cut the deficit to 11 points with under two minutes left.

102-95. The Suns have locked it up but it's nice to see the Hornets not giving up.

That is it, the Hornets lose 103-95 to the Suns. I'll have the recap a little later than usual. Feel free to comment guys. Big loss for New Orleans but I'd rather lose to the Suns than a team like Boston or Memphis.

The sad thing is that the Hornets closed the gap a few times to a championship caliber team while not having 4 of their starters: Paul, Mason, Chandler, and Stojakovic.

Recap: The Hornets snapped their three-game winning streak on Friday night, losing to the Suns 103-95. New Orleans(35-41) were without three starters including Chris Paul, Desmond Mason and Tyson Chandler. The Suns(57-19) are now three games away of the 60-win mark. Steve Nash led the Suns with 15 points, eight rebounds and 12 assists. Leandro Barbosa came off the bench and scored 26 points for Pheonix. David West led the Hornets with 17 points and five boards, while Marc Jackson scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. The Hornets will travel to Minnesota on Saturday night in what will definitley be an important game. If New Orleans does lose tomorrow, they could likely be eliminated if the Clippers and Warriors continue to win their next couple of games. Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler will be game-time decisions for tomorrow night. Leaders of the Night:SunsS. Nash- 15pts 8reb 12astS. Marion- 20pts 11reb 3astL. Barbosa- 26pts 5astHornetsD.
