Hope he doesn’t stick with NY. I’m guessing he will though. They could use him more than we can. Probably why he chose them. So now we know Rush wasn’t even our first choice. Doubt he sticks past the first ten.

Granted, this dude will prolly get more of a shot to play in NY. Will Rush's 100k or whatever he will get for his 10 day remain on our cap if we let him go after the first ten? Will we have even less than our original 570k before tax threshold to offer another dude before the deadline in March?
We are so hard up for new talent that a 10 day contract player thread already has five pages. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I still think Wilcox could contribute now that he’s back. Rush could just be insurance. If Wilcox keeps progressing I think well let Rush go and sign him so that he’s eligible for the playoffs.
But they can't stay below. Obviously this isn't a theory????? They are below. Not really a surprise? Not sure why all the fuss. The team has to carry 14 players. That is fact. They needed to sign someone. That also is fact. They needed to do it by yesterday. That is fact. Figure it out.

FEBRUARY 20, 7:55am: The Trail Blazers will fill one of their two open roster spots by signing veteran swingman Brandon Rush to a 10-day contract this week, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (Twitter link). Rush, a lottery pick back in 2008, has spent time with the Pacers, Warriors, Jazz, and Timberwolves over the course of nine NBA seasons. Known for his outside shooting ability, the 32-year-old has a career .402 3PT%. While he didn’t play a major role for Minnesota last season, averaging a modest 4.2 PPG, he continued to knock down outside shots when he took them, with a .386 3PT%. This past offseason, Rush caught on with the Bucks for training camp, but failed to earn a spot on Milwaukee’s regular season roster, having been cut just before opening night. In Portland, he’ll get an opportunity to establish himself as a player worth keeping on the roster down the stretch. As we outlined on Monday, the Blazers are one of four NBA teams that needs to sign a player this week in order to get back up to 14 players on standard contracts. Portland, Washington, Cleveland, and Atlanta all dipped to 13 players around the trade deadline, which is only permitted for two weeks. The Blazers are well positioned to remain under the luxury tax following Rush’s signing, since his contract will feature a modest cap hit of $83,129, as ESPN’s Bobby Marks details (via Twitter). Portland will still be about $573K below the tax line after signing Rush. That cushion would allow the Blazers to re-sign Rush to another 10-day contract and – eventually – a rest-of-season deal and stay out of the tax, though the equation would become more complicated if the club wants to add a 15th player to its roster at some point.
Being a Yankee fan like myself, that's when you go back and re-read news articles about the Marlins trading Stanton to the Yanks. Then you know all is well with the world again!
Marlins are actually in good hands with Jeter and Gary Denbo. Denbo revolutionized the Yanks farm system. But the fans are so hosed off from the tanking now I doubt they want to give them a chance. Fernandez's death totally fucked that team.
Doubt we’d sign a 15th guy. We already have Baldwin and Wilcox. I’m not as familiar with Rush’ game but if he could prove to be more than just a set shooter, he could replace Connaughton in the rotation.
