https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_presidential_campaign,_2020 The Donald Trump presidential campaign, 2020 is an ongoing re-election campaign by President of the United States Donald Trump, who took office since January 20, 2017. Trump began his campaign unusually early for an incumbent President of the United States. He began spending for his reelection effort within weeks of his election, and officially filed his campaign with the Federal Elections Commission on the day of his inauguration. Since February 2017, Trump has held several rallies and a fundraiser for this campaign. He has visited key electoral states. The campaign has raised funds and run two nationwide advertising campaigns. ... Trump's predecessors merged their campaign committees into their party's committee following their election victories. Following his 2016 election victory, Trump eschewed this presidential tradition and retained a separate campaign committee. Trump's campaign committee continued raising funds. In December 2016, the campaign raised $11 million.[12] These moves indicated that Trump was already eying a 2020 run.[13] Trump started spending money on the 2020 race on November 24, 2016 (sixteen days after the end of the 2016 election). The earliest campaign disbursement that his committees reported was spent towards the 2020 presidential primaries was for the purchase of a Delta Air Lines ticket on this date.[14] Trump officially filed his reelection campaign with the FEC on January 20, 2017, the day of his inauguration.[15][16][17][18] Trump launched his reelection campaign earlier in his presidency than his predecessors did. Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan all declared their candidacies for reelection in the third year of their presidencies.[19][20] Trump filed the papers for his reelection campaign approximately 47 months prior to the date of the election.[19] In contrast, both Reagan and George H. W. Bush filed approximately twelve months, George W. Bush filed approximately eighteen, and both Clinton and Obama filed approximately nineteen months prior to the date of the election.[19] While previous presidents had held rallies in the early days of their presidency to garner support for legislation, such rallies differed from those held by Trump in that they were funded by the White House rather than by campaign committees.[20][21] One of the advantages of having his campaign committee fund the events is that organizers can more discriminately screen attendees, refusing entry to non-supporters.[22] Trump's February rally in Melbourne, Florida was the earliest campaign rally for an incumbent president.[23][24] By filing for his campaign as early as he did, Trump gave also himself a head start on fundraising. This can theoretically help him to scare away primary challengers.[24]
Totally unrelated to this, but can someone who gets removed from an office technically run for the same office once again?
He could become president of the new confederacy and then assume the role of president of the US after they defeat the evil cucks.
All the guy really does is campaign....he's one giant twitter selfie....I'd like to see campaigning for next terms or raising money for the next election be not allowed when you have a real job that requires most of your waking hours to do responsibly...a month and a half before the elections...have the debates and vote...many countries spend 6 weeks tops on elections...it's getting ridiculous...
Left wing rag. https://newrepublic.com/article/147119/trump-wins-reelection “If you had the election literally today,I think Trump would be an underdog in the popular vote, but I don’t know about the electoral college,” FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver told me.“He’s coming from a low point where he had, approval ratings wise, by far the worst first year of any president. But he’s kind of reverting to some mean, in a way, and the mean is how, on average, incumbent presidents get reelected. You know, on average incumbent presidents are having a rough time two years in and their parties suffer anywhere between mild and humongous loses in the midterms, but the baseline case is that incumbent presidents usually win.” ... The conventional wisdom says that a strong economy favors the incumbent party in the White House. That didn’t hold true in 2016, butSean Trende, a senior elections analyst for RealClearPolitics, thinks the economy will play a key role in how low-information voters evaluate Trump.“The people who really care and are apoplectic or think he’s the greatest guy ever are already voting Democratic or Republican,” he said. “What you’re left with as deciders are these people who don’t follow politics really closely but do know if they got a raise this year of if their cousin got laid off.” This kind of analysis could help Trump, assuming the economy continues to improve.Silver described precisely how voters could rationalize reelecting the president in such a scenario: “You know what? I was worried about Trump when he was first in office and I don’t like the tweeting, but the fact is things have worked out okay for me personally, the economy seems to be in as good shape as it’s been in many years, and so why not? Why not give him another four years? Nothing blew up.” Trende told me that “if the election were held tomorrow, Trump would lose,” but warned against overconfidence:“I kind of feel like I’ve seen this movie before.”
Like his son pointed out, trump only sees one color and that color is green. Campaigning is another opportunity to raise money and stash like they did with the $24 million payment to Melania's "adviser" that set up a business the month prior. It was listed as for running the inauguration even though the company that had done the inaugurations for years was also paid the same amount. Things that make you go hmmmm?
If he runs again, I don't think it matters who the Dems bring out against him. I suspect all the people who stayed home or voted third party will show up to vote against him. I don't think it matters who. He's not winning again. No chance in hell.
Fake News. President Trump announced his intention to serve 2 terms when, ON INAUGURATION DAY he filed papers to conduct a campaign for re-election in 2020.
