https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-lakers-forward-corey-brewer-agree-contract-buyout-162547854.html I’d put money on him going to OKC, but this is noteworthy because the team is still looking for upgrades. Can’t imagine Rush will be here after his ten days are up. Wonder if anyone else gets bought out before tomorrow. I wish Vince Carter would. He’d be so nice off the bench.
Can't shoot and can't play in the playoffs. Why take on a player that is less than mediocre that can't shoot and won't be eligible for the playoffs. Who is he going to play instead of?
Are you actually serious? Because Brewer's shooting makes Evan Turner look like Kyle Korver. He's always been a shitty 3-point shooter, and has gotten worse (career 3FG% = .280, 2017-18 3FG% = .186). The last time he shot about .300 from 3-point range was 2009-10. Does that sound like a good fit for a wing player in Stotts' offense. The thought of either Turner or Brewer on the court makes me puke. The thought of them on the court together makes me puke up blood. Brewer sucks so bad the fans in both HOU and LAL absolutely hated the guy. The only upside to getting him is he'd make Evan Turner and Meyer Leonard look better by comparison. With his connection to Billy Donovan, OKC is the most likely destination for him. Good, they can have him. They are looking for a Roberson replacement, and I hope they think Brewer is it, because any minutes he plays for them makes them worse. This is one time where I definitely don't want Neil trying to cock block a division rival. Just back the fuck off and let OKC have him. BNM
Actually, he could play in the playoffs. The deadline for playoff eligibility is tomorrow. All the more reason not to do it. The guy sucks. I don't want to see him on the floor in a POR uniform during the playoffs. BNM
I just read the waiver rules and just needs to be waived by 3/1 to be eligible. Still don't need or want him.
All OKC would need him for is defense. He could even start. Just because he’d be useless for Portland doesn’t mean he’d be useless for everyone else.
Exactly. He might not fit with us as we need more shooting. But on a team where Paul George does not often see the ball enough, Brewer would give them some disruptive defensive energy off the bench where he nevers needs to touch the ball on offense.
