Who said anything about hate? All I see is a bunch of people who used some form of indoctrination to control a weak minded public and inflicted a lot death and destruction as a dictator. That doesn't make them better or worse than what happened in the Crusades or the Spanish Inquisition or the conquest of the Americas where millions of natives were killed as the church tried to spread their missions up and down North and South America. Nothing controls my life. Not religion. Not politics. I don't loyally give myself to any movement. I analyze and I decide for myself. Sometimes I vote Republican, sometimes I vote Democrat. I went to church for a few years. Got confirmed Lutheran. It's a good community to do fun stuff like play softball, but I still see a lot of hypocrites. People who claim to follow the bible, but still judge others. I'm sure Jesus was a really good dude (if he existed), and he would be ashamed of what people have done and are doing in his name. Whether he is the actual son of god is another matter entirely. My point, is that I don't just accept anything. I keep an open mind and I decide things for myself. I have had some shit happen to me that makes me think there's something greater than me.... but is that the Christian god? I don't know. Either way, I think organized religion is a tool used to steal people's money and control people's actions.
I'm not sure what you're referring to. I hope it's not the protection of ecologically sensitive areas.
Aha, I can understand that. I had a friend that owned land on the Olympic peninsula. He got forcibly bought out by the government who wanted it protected. He had mixed feelings, He loved his property that he frequently back packed into but liked protecting that area. He had mixed feelings.
Sorry, all I can get from the first post is: 1) We have a niche 2) Therefore, we were designed for that niche. Depending on what you mean by 'designed for', I might or might not agree. barfo
Protection? What I see is exclusion. MarAzul's voyage there was in plan too. I don't believe I would have harmed it anymore than the last time. It was rather Emperor like to do it to.
Try the number google. There is no known use for it. It is greater than the total known and suspected number of sub atomic particles in the known and suspected universe. It is also greater than the number of radii of a hydrogen atom across the diameter of the known universe. And then there's google plex.
I'm quite certain that the exclusion was not meant for you. However, there are regions that need protection due to disappearing species and trash.
Designed might not be the right word. Who knows how God works? I certainly don't. I'm drawn back to that word infinity that I have virtually no understanding of except that it's really big.
And perhaps the only niche of the kind. Do you know of Kurt Gödel? Are you aware of his thinking on the issue?
WTF? Certainly it was meant for me, and any like me, few as they may be! It did not have to be, he could have just ban commercial fishing, but he include me.
No, you misunderstand the science. The 2nd law of thermodynamics doesn't say that everything moves toward chaos. If that were true no one could ever build an automobile or organize a library. If you put energy into something, you can move it to less disordered states. A living being is not an isolated system. Animals eat, and use that energy to grow and reproduce and mutate and evolve. barfo
Tourism...that's why...they should ban those damned helicopter tours too...I used to swim up above Akaka Falls where my Hawaiian friends hunted boar...every 5 minutes a helicopter would fly up the canyon with tourists ogling you.....lot of places I love to go to in the world but tourists shut them down....my favorite river hike in the world got ruined by a cement company that decided to quarry there.
Yes, perhaps so. One certainly can't say for sure whether there is or is not another planet elsewhere that could support us. Yes to the first question, although I'm no expert on him. On the second question, I'm a little unsure still of what the issue is. But maybe if you tell me his thinking on the issue, I will be able to discern what the issue is. barfo
It is essential to the definition of a linear combination that only finitely many terms have nonzero coefficient. Otherwise, one needs a notion of convergence, and that is not part of the definition of an abstract vector space. So, technically the polynomial expansions of the transcendental functions do not count as linear combinations. Example: 1+ x +x^2 + x^12 + ... + x^368 + ...+x^20 zillion This is a legit linear combination.
