Until recently, I had watched all this guy's movies but didn't know he directed them all. They make up an impressive list of deep intellectual thrillers including Memento, The Prestige, and Insomnia, all easily three of the most intellectually engaging movies of all time.

Memento is one of the best movies that I've ever seen. Its really a great story, but the way it is filmed is what sets it apart from other films that are similar to it. I think its one of the more underated films. I almost never see people talk about this film when talking about the best movies of all time. Leonard, the main character, is one of the best characters that has ever been thought of. It's one of those films that I had to watch twice to fully understand. I would recomend this film to anyone who liked movies like Fight Club, The Machinist, or anything of that nature. On Nolan, he is greatly underated. I think part of it is that he hasnt directed a ton of movies. He's really only directed 5 films. Memento, Batman Begins, Insomnia, The Prestige, and Following. I've not seen Following, but from what I've heard and read from reviews, it was a pretty good film. He's also directing the rest of the Batman movies, at least 2 more if I'm correct.

For the Memento fans, check out Guy Pierce in First Snow. It's limited but if you have a chance, recommended. On Nolan, like you said Pestilence. All of his films have a degree of intelligence behind them. If you see Nolan on the credits, you have to pay attention. Underrated filmmaker but I think that's because of the shortage of movies he's directed. One thing I hope with the Batman series, I hope he doesn't sell out afterwards ala Sam Raimi. I know he's putting his spin on the Batman series with dark undertones but comic book movies tend to get dumbdowned. I'll be watching for his next flick after the series to see what he does.

I saw and liked Batman Begins, but after seeing The Prestige, I put all of his movies that I haven't seen at the top of my netflix queue.

I havent heard of one called Mr. Hughes. I looked it up on imdb and it only lists the 5 films and like 2 short films. :dunno: On to the Batman series, who likes the idea of Heath Ledger as Joker? When I first heard, I was sort of disapointed, but I've come around to the idea and think he could and will suprise a ton of people. Rok and I were talking about this and he would of liked to seen Paut Bettany, who I think would of been a great pick for the joker. They aslo have Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. I think that is a great pick for Harvey Dent. Also, Katie Holmes isnt comming back and is replaced by Maggie Gylennhal. I wish Holmes was comming back. Not because her acting was great or anything like that, but becuase I hate when they dont get the same people back in sequels and trilogies.

Terminator 3 could have been somewhat satisfying to watch if it had FURLONG!Dark Knight should just kill off Holmes and bring in Maggie as a different character or continue the previous films method of one night stands.

I guess GMViet. was kind of a comedy, but he was still nommed for an oscar.

^He was really good in the underrated One Hour Photo. In fact, I don't think I know of many who saw that film.

Kinda an odd choice, but hes a good actor and I can see him doing fight scenes and looking really creepy. Casting a skinny guy as the joker just wouldnt seem like a real challenge to Batman. Im glad Holmes is gone, she was the one person holding Batman Begins back from being great. It is definitely the best comic book movie made but she just sucks as an actor. Maggie will have a limited part in the movie so I dont think it'll be that bad having her replace Holmes. Im also hoping Scarecrow is back

The Prestige was a really good movie also along with Batman.
