Well, rings are all relative. Bill Russell's rings are impressive, as are Michael Jordan's, etc., because they led their teams to those rings. Morrison didn't lead the Lakers to anything. He was just along for the ride. But yes, Westbrook has definitely had better teammates. He had Durant and Harden and ended up running Durant out of town with his selfish hero ball. Now he has Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. You were telling us for months that they would "figure it out" that they had too much talent not to be a great team. Well, here they are 67 games into the season and they still haven't figured that out. They were picked by everyone, you included, to win the NW Division and be no lower than a 3rd seed in the West. They are currently 3rd in the NW and 7th in the West. They have greatly unperformed relative to expectations. Shouldn't part of that be attributed to their best player and his lack of leadership? BNM
I just can’t blame the star of a team who goes out there and plays like a warrior every single play of every single game. Team chem is a fickle thing right? Maybe they click in the playoffs, who knows, maybe they don’t and it was a failed experiment. I can’t blame The Big O for not winning championships when he put up those historic numbers...... they didn’t NOT win because of him. There aren’t too many players I’d rather have the ball in thier hands with a tied game than Russ to be honest. Dame is one as well. Sorry man, we will have to disagree on this til the end of time...... or until you get banned form here.
You can't say he plays like a warrior every play of the game when 75% of the time on D his man shoots an unguarded shot b/c Russ is board-chasin'. A warrior every play would be playing Ime Udoka D. Not Ike Diogu D.
And you guys remember how much I hate him in real life right? Thats how much I love him on the court.
But, you yourself said you'd take Dame over Westbrook. So, in that sense, we actually agree. Russ doesn't play like a Warrior, KD does, because Russ drove him out of OKC. BNM
Only Lillard and LBJ in the last 40 years have 10,400 points, 2800 assists in first 6 seasons: http://bkref.com/tiny/GmETR Move over MJ!
I think the reason he is "underrated" is the fact the team is average. With the exception of a couple, Dame hasn't really "led" the team to great heights. Not a slight, just an opinion as to why he may be, or perceived being, underrated
Perhaps, but one would think that the same evaluation should, in theory, be leveled on Anthony Davis, whose teams are perennially worse than Dame's, yet he's universally understood to be a top-10 player.
