You should try McMenamins the next time you're in the Portland Metro area. They make an awesome burger and tots.
I think I told the story here. I think it was in Long Beach Washington. Friend wanted what he said were the best biscuits and gravy on Earth. Roll up to restaurant and see some dude STARING at is. I flipped him off and we walked in. Guy I flipped off got up wearing an apron and went back in the kitchen. I wanted to leave but he HAD to have the biscuits. I didn't even drink any water there and we went to McDonald's for me after my friend ate his Jizzcuits and Gravy. True story from 20 years ago, never forget it.
Damn! Tebos was a regular stop for me, everytime I came North for whatever. It Was in the days when we lived in West Linn too. A Hamburg & bowl of beans.
When I was on a road trip a year ago I must have passed close to a thousand (literally) Waffle Houses. On the Mississsippi Gulf Coast there must have been one every half a mile. Yet I never stopped and regret it to this day. The one time I actually went looking for one, there wasn’t one to be found (effing Arkansas!!). But I hear they’re great for what they are......
This is a stereotype I hear from waiters in Vegas... We supposedly have lots of Mormons here that bring huge families to the local breakfast places and DESTROY the entire area they sit in and apparently rarely even tip. This is all second hand but I've seen it happen more than once and when commiserating with the waiter they tell the same story.
Ok, I'll admit it. I just eat roadkill for breakfast/lunch/dinner Edit: If I just put bread on top and bottom, it all looks fine!
I did. I kind a like hot cakes or waffles for breakfast. But man, those waffle houses are Nasty! Tried two I think. Sometimes your senses lead you know, if you're lucky.
Then I appreciate you throwing yourself on that particular grenade for me and I will continue to steer clear.
McMenamins is the shit! Loved going there in multiple OR locations, always a good mix. First/last place I went to have dinner where The Roots were blaring from the overheads. They were also supposed to open a restaurant in Tacoma over the past few years, but it got stalled b/c of some historical building property bullshit.
